I do like a bit of stop motion claymation, so The MIdnight Walk was a no brainer to play.

I am currently 40 minutes in and still working my way around. While the game says a controller is best, I am playing perfectly fine with the mouse and keyboard, although rebinding the keys is eluding me so far. It's a small thing, but should be available, so hopefully my Steam post will help.

You play the Burnt One, who having borrowed some eyes and some ears heads off into the world. It's a dark place, illuminated by fire. Matches and candles have been a staple thus far, sometimes opening new paths, sometimes just providing a bit of cheer.

What I am doing (bigger picture wise) I am not yet sure. I do know I need to avoid the crawling many limbed things that will bite your head off (I got caught to deliberately find out what would happen). I snuck past the first and ran away from the second, and I assume they will also be a staple as I progress.

I am collecting rag dolls as I go, for what purpose I don't yet know. I have also gathered an inventory item or two that can be activated and then used. I have also learnt to close my eyes to allow me to hear things more clearly. I expect that too will be an ongoing requirement.

I have just encountered Potboy, a (possible) companion that is just as the name implies and who can carry fire. Having fed him, he seems to be willing to come along/lead me.

It looks and sounds good, so long as you don't mind a gloomy, dark visage. That might change as the game goes on.

It plays in the third person and saves automatically. It also supports VR.

I look forward to what is to come.

It sounded so good while I was working on this one, I bought it! So far... interesting. But yes, wish I could remap a couple of keys.

Potboy reminds me of the Simon's Cat in the cartoon videos online saying "feed me!"

I'm going to make a post at Steam too. I'm really liking it so far. It was a tad expensive, but I've been gameless for several months now, so what the heck!

This looks really good flotsam. How many keys are used? Keyboard bindings was brought up Monday. Still waiting for a reply

I look forward to your full review

Thanks Drac

Orion, I'm just using the mouse for direction and the WASD keys for movement. Tab equips an item, F interacts with items, E tells my companion to do something.

Both those posts are me and flotsam!

Thank you Drac

I was hoping not too many keys playing standard. I have never liked having to use half the keyboard in order to play a game and wouldn't if that were the case with this game. I would like to try this one in VR but they are having issue with the VR version after a Meta update so I might have to play standard. I'll pick it up before sale ends

These developers are a no show when it comes to this discussions board. Hopefully you both get a reply

Here ia a nice look at the game:

Thank you Drac and Flotsam! It looks like a pretty vibrant game.

I've gotten into the habit of always using a gamepad for keyboard/gamepad controlled games. However, I think that a key remap option should be obligatory for games like this. Among many other reasons, WASD movement isn't suitable for us who use the mouse with the left hand.

Mikael, I have never considered that! And even if the arrow direction keys work, the others such as E and F and Tab are all clustered abound the WASD keys.

Real life has prevented any further play but hopefully I can get some time in this weekend.
No response on the Steam forum re keys but I will probably give the gamepad a go in any event.
