Happy Friday everyone. Drac, sounds like a full schedule coming up for your. Nothing on my agenda today except a grocery list. Probably only a couple of items so I can make my Hungarian Goulash. I made some Salmon last night with half of my carrots. Gerry said she was expecting storms yesterday. I do hope she is okay!

Good morning everyone!

Emergency kits available in the break room.

Halloween went well. Had enough candy to make the tricksters happy.

No incoming storm here. 7 Celsius and cloudy!

Happy Día de Muertos zombie

Good Saturday morning. Oh, my goodness, Connie! 45 IS chilly for you! That's what we have here too. Supposed to have some sun and be a high of 50 today. Good day for the Wagon Day - I'm heading down to the Ranch shortly.

Good morning everyone. No trick or treaters here either Gerry...I'm well stocked for sweets now. Very quiet here last night Fogfighter so watched a movie waiting for trick or treatrs. We had a chilly start here too Connie...but it's warming nicely now that the sun is up. Finishing up grocery shopping today OldBroad and then it'll be time for R&R to enjoy the weekend like SQF. Have fun at the ranch today Draclvr...does the ranch shut down for the winter months? Keeping you and Linda in our thoughts and prayers Lex. The WADDB and bagels are marvelous this morning.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone wave

Happy Saturday to you all.

Gerry, I thought maybe you lost your electricity. Enjoy your candy but not all at one time. Same for you, soot. Our doorbell rang once in the afternoon but we don't answer it. Usually the blind is shut and lights out and nobody comes. Yesterday the blind was open.

The only mishap with my groceries today was regarding bay leaves. I wrote on the list "Bay Leaves (herb dried)". I got fresh. I should have wrote spice, not herb. I didn't write the list until 3 am before I went to sleep. I was going to skip it because I was upset about something and in a snit. I left myself a few dirty dishes on my counter top also. Yay me.

On to November.

Never mind, oldbroad. We all have a snit now and then. And the dishes won't have taken any harm by being left for a few extra hours 😜

I hope you can use your fresh leaves 🤞

I'll probably use one only and try to dry the rest out, Mad. Sometimes when I buy Cilantro I do that.

Happy weekend everyone.

We've had a nasty few days of severe rainfall. so I've been stuck at home.

The people who moved into the new house across the road from me last summer have a dog that barks ALL DAY LONG, a Shepherd mix with a loud high pitched yap. These people just leave the dog outside barking all day long. I've talked to the woman who lives there a couple of times, and I could tell she doesn't care and has no intention of doing anything about it. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I can't enjoy my home, even when I'm inside. It's a noise bylaw violation, specifically mentioned in the Regional Bylaws, but nothing ever comes from a noise complaint, as we learned a few years when living in Burnaby. It's really getting on my nerves. Yap, yap, yap. All day long. mad

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I have several horror stories about my next door neighbors but one involves a dog that they had for a short time. They kept it chained up in the back yard and the woman would come home from work or somewhere at around 1 am and start interacting with the dog. The dog would bark and the chain would bang around. This is just a few feet outside my bedroom window and while I was still working. One day animal control or someone came and took the dog away. I'm sure they thought I called but I didn't. I just yelled out the window at them. I think the neighbors on the other side called.

Good Sunday morning. I NEEDED that extra hour of sleep after yesterday! We had a very big crowd - probably at least 250 people. And how volunteers showed up to tour guide the wagon rides? ME! Another volunteer drove the truck that pulls the wagon and the volunteer that does the Twister paints did a couple for me so my voice would last! It was very cold and windy too. I just couldn't warm up when I got home. I had to go back down at 9 to feed the night horses and THEN I finally warmed up! It was 30 degrees and we close all the barn doors below 40, so I had to drag 20 super heavy barn doors shut.

Gerry, your WADDB is just the ticket this morning!

The Today show came out several years ago and did a video on Twister if you want to watch it.

Tag - you're it, Drac!

Back in the day when the clocks changed in October and I still worked, I used to like to take vacation that week to get an extra hour of vacation time. I would also not change my clock until way at the end of the day so that I could feel that extra hour. Now, the only clocks I change are on my microwave and counter top oven. I don't even bother with my bedroom clock or the one I keep in my washroom.

I hope you all enjoy your day!

Good Monday morning. How did it get to be Monday so soon!

I made some home made beef barley vegetable soup yesterday. Had some soup bones with meat in the freezer, so I put them in my small pressure cooker with an onion, a carrot and a stalk of celery for about 45 minutes. After I strained the broth, I removed the meat and cut it up. I added those nifty cubed carrots I had frozen, fresh chopped celery, onion, barley and potato. Today I will be channeling my mother and make home made noodles. We always knew when we came home from school on a cold day and saw mom's noodles draped over the kitchen chairs to dry that we would be having vegetable beef barley soup for supper with home made bread!
