Hi Everyone!

When this thread was started back in December 2025, I was already on the fence about cancelling my BFG membership, so it was easy to decide (after purchasing more than 1,200 games over the years, except for 2026 – zero). Susie07, I feel exactly as you do, along with what other Gameboomers have said and the USD6.99 monthly fee wasn't worth it anymore. The sad BFG-developer relationship makes me feel for the game developers and I wish them well, plus I hope BFG can mend those relationships and bring back better quality games. In the meantime, I'll re-download and play games from my BFG library.

Hi, Marian!

I think we must have been separated at birth because my grandmother also said that lol !

Gameboomers is my Home Page so I check your posts announcing the new Big Fish games every morning. I have only found one game I have been interested in buying so far this year, and that was "Bridge To Another World: Fate of the Seasons" CE, and now Dark City: Florence" CE makes two.

When I played the demo of the first Domini game with no voiceovers I thought there was something wrong with my sound card or speakers smile. When I realized it was the game and not me, I didn't buy it. Ditto for the second one as well. If they can no longer afford to pay voice actors, I also don't understand why they don't use AI because it's everywhere else. Whenever we Google anything now, "AI Overview" is the first thing that shows up.

I'll give it a few more months to see if Big Fish starts rolling out more HOPA games but, if not, it isn't worth $6.99 a month anymore to me.

Thank you for your thoughts. The opinions expressed here are how many of us are feeling, I think. I'm glad you posted. smile

Marian, when you're on the Big Fish FaceBook or whatever it is, are there people talking about all of this? I actually wrote them last night (before posting here) inquiring if they have stopped the BOGO sales and also offered my opinion that even though I understand they are pushing membership it seems they are losing customers, both members and non-members since they've made all these changes. I don't expect any response regarding that opinion but thought I'd put it out there. Maybe they just keep needing to hear it before it's too late and they really don't have any customers.

Hi, Drummerboy!

I wonder if it has dawned on anyone at Big Fish yet that someone made a colossal mistake cutting ties with some of their HOPA developers. Also, I don't rememberr the last time I saw a BOGO sale or 65% off for members.

What about the bonus (extra) points days? Do you still get those as members?

Ob, yes, people are still talking about this. However, it has been toned down a bit by the moderators, gently reminding people that they are called a Big Fish Fans group, not a group to tear them limb from limb. Apart from the things already mentioned here, many people are upset by the fact that the demos have been cut to 25 minutes. This is hard for me to relate to as I rarely look at demos before purchasing, but if this group on Facebook is anything to go by, it is very important to many of their customers. But to get back to your original query, constructive criticism is welcome (such as what you sent to them).

Susan, it is my understanding that the previous owners did not want any more money invested in HOPA game development and that therefore the current owners broke it off with the HOPA developers. However, on the Facebook page, the new BF representative was saying that they were aware that people wish to continue with MCF and other HOPA games and that there were things in the works. No time frame was given, though.

I can't help but believe that sales surely are going down this year due to all the things that we have mentioned. Having said that, I have no idea how well or how poorly these HOP games are selling. The market is so saturated now with the HOP games such as "look for the hot dog bun by the river in the Netherlands during the family vacation" that I can't imagine they are selling well. But without the actual figures before me, how would we know?

And I don't mean to cause offense by characterizing all HOP games the way I just did. Heck, there are times when I feel like playing a game like that - but not all the time!

And ob, I never really took advantage of those bonus points days for members, but I was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen one in a while. The best deal I have had is a match 3 Daily Deal that I was able to pick up for a dollar, because the price of the Daily Deal has dropped to one dollar.

You can treat this as a rhetorical question, but why would the current owners give a hoot about what the previous owners wanted or did not want? And why would the previous owners give a hoot about what the current owners do? (Okay, questions, plural.)

Actually the second question, I can figure out better than the first. You don't want to see the business you built get destroyed, let's say.

Okay, rhetorical questions, and I will ignore. But I will say that these decisions (for better or for worse) always involve money, which is always the bottom line. Wish I knew more. When something on the surface makes no sense, look below the surface and know that it involves cents, so to speak. Or words to that effect.

Hi, Marian!

I'm late to the party because I didn't get around to reading this thread until now lol ! Sometimes when a company tries to save money by making drastic changes, they end up losing customers, and they need customers to survive. If the comments in this forum are any indication, BFG will quickly learn that the changes they've made are not being well received since most of our fellow Boomers are not buying as many games as before.
