Good Thursday morning. 99, 100, 101, 100 - rinse and repeat. Ghastly out there.

I've had to start watering all my shrubs and grasses. And the tomatoes and peppers got a good soaking this week too. Luckily, we are on a private well and don't have to worry about rationing water.

It's almost cold this morning at 16 degrees. Good sleeping weather.

It's dance day today. We're having a Jamboree in October and apparently everyone gets dressed up, so I'm looking at buying western dance boots to get into the spirit of it. I balk at the shirts, though, and I refuse to wear a hat.

Another over 90 degree day here today but rain is supposed to be on the way.

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. Grocery shopping for our Labor Day BBQ we're having on Sunday. Enjoy the day and hug someone.

Good Friday morning. More of the same dreadful heat through the weekend and up through next Wednesday.

We'll be going to the annual rib cook at hubby's sister's clubhouse on the river on Sunday. They do BBQ ribs and the rest is pot luck. The food is always amazing because there are a LOT of people there, but I am not looking forward to sitting outside around in this heat.

We're struggling to keep the pool open because we have a huge walnut tree near it and the falling leaves clog up the filter if we don't go out there every hour.

It's almost cold this morning. It rained on and off all day yesterday, so everything is nice and fresh and doesn't need hand watering. One last lawn mow and then i think it's done for the season.

Good morning everyone. Slept in this morning and see that I arrived in time for WADDB and bagels. Vacuuming on the docket today. Enjoy the day everyone.

Good Saturday morning. Yeah, 100 degrees F again today.

And of course, I'm working up tomatoes in the HOT garage! My hot pepper/garlic mash that has been fermenting for a week is ready to be bottled up - the pH is under 4.0. It smells SO good!

I gave away 7 beer flats of tomatoes yesterday and the table is full again!

I couldn't take my grubby floors anymore and vacuumed and mopped yesterday, soot!

I had to turn on the heat for an hour this morning. Seems a bit on the cool side for this time of year. We had more rain last night, too, which is great for all the new shrubs I had planted last week.

Have to run into town to pick fabric for my dining room chairs. This has become yet another saga. Twice I've picked fabric only to be told that it's discontinued. There are so few people in town who do this kind of small job that I have to just accept that it's not as easy as it should be.

Pretty lazy day for me. Went out to lunch with a friend followed by watching a football game. Life is good.

Good Sunday morning. Hope everyone in the US is enjoying the long holiday weekend! Labor day is supposed to kind of be the end of summer. But summer here is holding on for dear life! It was 102 F here yesterday. And it was 104 F in the garage where I was working! The pool was a welcome relief.

Today is the big BBQ ribs at my SIL's clubhouse on the river. I'm taking a big dish of sliced onions and tomatoes. At least the temp today is "only" supposed to be 92 F.

I'm doing absolutely nothing today. Feet up. coffee in hand. If it gets any warmer I might go outside but right now, it's quite chilly. Summer seems to be over, here.

Good Sunday afternoon to y'all! Keeping the squirrels, sparrows, cardinals and hummingbirds watered and fed. Doesn't get much better than that. Also got the chance to rewatch Flight of the Navigator this morning.

hi boomers, i'm typing this with one hand, excuse any mistakes. about 2 months ago i think, the days are melting together, i went to my doc. because i had an extreme arthritis attack, hoping to get a cortisone shot but he put me on a med. that tricks your brain that there's no pain, problem was i ended up with every adverse side effect. hallucinations, sick stomach, not sleeping and confusion. doc took me off them but they were still in my system for awhile. i got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and got confused, turned the wrong way and fell down the stairs and broke my left humerus bone about an inch down from my shoulder. i've been bed ridden and only up now for an hour or so each day. i'm very weak and i'm now 75 lbs. i find it hard to eat. i probably missed a lot of birthdays so happy birthday to those i missed. i'll try to get back once in a while as i get better. bye for now.

Oh, judith, so sorry to hear this. I hope your recovery continues smoothly.

Judith, That's awful! I was wondering where you were.

If you're having trouble eating, can you make yourself protein smoothies? When John had trouble eating I always made him a chocolate smoothie. It's a good way to get lots of protein and calories into you. You can put fruit and even ice cream in it.

Do you have someone looking in on you? Someone who can help you? Can you get home care? There must be someone you can call.

Please take care of yourself.

Judith, I am so very sorry to hear of your difficulties. What an ordeal you have been going through. All my best thoughts for your recovery. Thanks so much for letting us know.

Oh, judith, I am so sorry to hear this. I've been wondering about you. I'm sure it's hard, but do what you can to get some protein and calories in you - that's what will help you heal. I made smoothies for my husband of the high protein shakes and a scoop of ice cream. Sometimes he wanted chocolate and sometimes he wanted something with fresh fruit. It sure helped.

Good Monday Labor Day morning. We have a one day break in this horrid heat! It will only be 83 F today, but then it's back into the mid-90's.

The rib BBQ at my SIL's was a success too. It was only 91 F and that is quite tolerable for sitting around and visiting with family for a couple of hours. I took a huge dish of sliced tomatoes and people were shocked that I still had them! My SIL said hers did the same thing and didn't start getting ripe until late August, so I don't feel so bad

When we got home about 3:30, I heated up the nice thick sauce I'd done the day before and got it in the canner. I also bottled up my first batch of smokey hot sauce. I'm thinking I might just take advantage of this gorgeous day and do nothing but read out by the pool!

I think our summer is over. I had the fireplace on for hours yesterday, I got so chilled. We've had overcast days and light rain lately, too. Personally, I welcome the change. I don't do well in hot weather.

judith what a horror story to have to go through, I have mildish arthritis but I think I'll just go for OTC pain killers in the future when it gets worse, so sorry for all you went through.

I think we broke a record here, temperature-wise. The high is 80 degrees. Labor Day is usually much hotter. The weather today is wonderful!
