Good Friday morning. After the inch and a half of rain we had overnight on Wednesday, it has really cooled down. Highs in the low to upper 80's for the foreseeable future.

Put on a small mash of hot peppers and garlic to ferment yesterday. That will be my last one. My peppers were NOT very productive this year. I think we planted them too close to a water-sucking silver maple tree. Still have enormous amounts of tomatoes with more coming. Diced some small ones up with onions, peppers, garlic and some seasoning and covered with brine. Going to try a fermented salsa. Smells really good.

SO glad to hear you have your new computer up and running, hagatha. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear from you for a few days while you immerse yourself!

I'm skipping Pilates this morning after my 2-hour dance class yesterday -- I'm a bit sore. W have a Jamboree coming up and our instructor is determined to have us give a good showing for the other groups.


It looks like it might rain today, which would be wonderful. I need to run into town for some cat food and maybe drop in on the farm market to see what they have this week.

It is going to be another beautiful day here today with low humidity. It is chilly this morning temp is only 55 degrees...it will be in the 70s for a high today...perfect weather!

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend. We've enjoyed scattered showers to keep our drought at bay and temps in the 80s which has been outstanding but we're headed back to the upper 90s this week and triple digit feels like temps. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Summer is really over, here and the days are drawing in. I wanted to sit outside with my coffee this morning but it was too chilly. No rain, though. It looks as though I'll be spending a good part of my evening watering the garden.

Good Saturday morning. Beautiful cool morning heading for an equally beautiful 83 degree day.

Hubby is getting the pool closed up for the season. I'm going to miss it!

I still have hummingbirds, but they are really slowing down. I put out half a gallon yesterday and it's only about half gone.

Tidying up my kitchen is on the agenda today. It's a disaster right now as I've neglected it while I work on getting tomato products preserved for the winter in the garage. I can see from here that it's time to wash down my cabinets too. Because I cook a lot, they are pretty grubby. The refrigerator needs a good scrubbing inside too.

Closing the pool for the season...I always lamented that day as a kid

I too have noticed it is beginning to look like fall has arrived. The woods are thinning out and you can see further in on my walks and the ferns and brush along the edge of the woods are turning brown. I have noticed the sun is lower in the sky too and comes in the windows at a different angle. I don't need the air conditioning on except once in a while now that the sun is not so high and intense.

Good Sunday morning. Today is supposed to be a lovely 85 degrees F. But tomorrow starts 5 days in the mid to upper 90's. The heat just won't let go. And now no pool to cool off in!

I just spent an hour checking my old laptop's One Drive to make sure there's nothing important left on it. Last night I forgot about how truly flaky this poor Alienware is and shut it off -- three restarts before it finally stayed on this morning.

I'll do a bit more setup on the new machine today and then maybe go for a walk.
