Well - it just isn't working. I hit 'jump' and forward arrow, but always bounce right off the ceiling and straight down again. I don't know how to go faster or lower. ???

I am going to the local 'store' to find a haste spell or something else that might help.

Any suggestions?

Have you checked Flamestryke's site. It mentions the doors and how to keep them open.

GReat resource site - thank you! However, all I can find is hint to jump. I must be doing it wrong somehow and will keep trying.

Hi,

The only way I was able to jump through was to get close as possible before the door closes (stop at the last point before it starts to close)and use jump and it worked for me every time.

This is a tricky spot but with patience it will work. Good Luck and don't give up. smile

I would save in the above spot and just reload and try until it works.

I had to have both hands on the keyboard to make it work and keep the keys pressed down until you are through.

Going in is the easier way. Going back out is even more trickier but if you have Town Portal then that should help a great deal when you are ready to leave.

The Universal Hint site agreed with me that the ceiling was too low and advised a running jump using the 'x' key. IT WORKED!

I understand there are more of these spots ahead, but at least I have a few ideas how to proceed now. It's so frustrating to get hopelessly, or so it seems, stuck!

Thanks, GameBoomers!

Hi, I'm back! I'm going thru the game again with a new crew and still having fun.

However, I have managed to bring the Necromancer uup to Masters speed in all his magics, but the Town Portal just doesn't work right. You can only transport to Ravenshore, Alvar, Ravage Roaming and Daggerwound. When I played before, I could also go to Shadowspire. Even at the end of the game I could not transport to any other spots.

Shouldn't you be able to use the town portal spell to more places?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

As I remember there are I beleive 5 palces to teleport to and Shadowspire is one of them. The only thing I can think of is that you may not have clicked on the fountain in the center of town. Make sure you click on it or you won't be able to teleport to it.

The rest of the places that are left you will have to bookmark them to be able to go back to them.

Hi,

It says 2000 on the back of the CD Case so I am guessing that is how old it is.

Yes it is a point and click and you would enjoy it as I am still enjoying it over and over. smile

2000 is right. But, the movement of the characters is done through the WASD keys on the keyboard, isn't it?

Thanks for the info! I may not have clicked on the fountains, so will go back and do that.

About these games, I started with M&M 6 and have M&M 9 waiting. I enjoyed each of them enough to play them thru twice and may go back sometime and do them again.

You can use WASD keyboard keys or the mouse. I have a system of both that works for me. I hope you enjoy these games as much as I have.

However, I'd still be stuck in a M&M 6 dungeon or something without the other GameBoomers!

I didn't remember that about being able to use the mouse for movement too - thanks for the refresher VHL and Atheen!
In that case, Maggie - sounds like a game you would like! I loved M+M VI, VII and VIII.

Hi,

It might be that you can re map the keys in which case I usually use the arrow keys and the closest keys for jumping and so on.

Maggie, some folks having XP can't get them to play. There's an unofficial patch that makes it easier for some computers. If you do decide to get them, be sure and get Might and Magic rather than Heroes of Might and Magic, since the latter is the strategy series set in the same universe instead of the RPG series. Easy to get confused.

Hi,

In the options area a lot of games will let you change which key to use for movement or using stuff and so on.

If my keys to move were set for ASDW amd I want them to be the arrow keys then I can change by clicking on the keys assigned by the game company and change to whatever I want them to be.

I hope this clears it up for you and if not then ask again. smile

No you are not dumb because we were all new to this kind of gaming at one time and didn't know about how these games work.
