Meleth I'm sorry but we will have to wait for a vet of this game to help you.

Just to make sure:
You are *still* in the icy cave, in which you start the age? you went all the way to the opening (which is *not* an exit), looked about, turned around, and now you can't move?

In that case - it absolutely sounds like a bug. There's nothing I can think of except using another save (if hopefully you have one).

You're character is simply stuck in it's location? Did you try changing "modes" (i.e. free mode instead of another...)?

There's definitely definitely definitely no logic to human behaviour.

Tomer, no, I managed to get out of the first cave by making the floor break and fall down to the exit of the cave. Once I was out of the cave I turned left and went up a path and that's where I got stuck and couldn't go back.

But, I solved it. I had a save game right at the end of the prevoius Age I'd played so I went back there and started the snowy age again. So all is good again and I'm working my way through it.

Is it just me or are the puzzles in Myst V easier then in previous Myst games? There seem to be less stages you have to go through to solve them.

cool Meleth; I think most of us who love the MYST games would agree that it is certainly much easier that either Riven or MYST IV. However, it'll still provide its full share of stress and irritation. I've always felt that what makes that particular game, and the series of five, so special is the sense of "Doneness" which MYST V provides. It's like reading the last chapters of The Man in the Iron Mask. Then you know what happened to three of the four and you kow Aramis is still there to pray for his companions. The completeness of the tale is what makes it special (besides that fact that it is clever and gorgeous!)

If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

I really agree with that, even though I've not yet finished the game I'm getting that feeling. The opening speech by Atrus was incredibly sad and the anger and sadness in Yeesha is equally sad. I've played these games for so long that they are like characters in a book that I care very much for. I can really feel how it's all coming to an end and it'll be very interesting to see how it all ends and what choices I will be able to make. I'll, of course, creat a save game so that I can go back and see if I can end it in different ways wink
