For those that never bought The Blackwell Legacy, it is now available over at BFG but without a Demo version. Very large download.

So, I googled and found the game Demo here so anyone wanting to can try it before they buy it. The Demo is 32.11mb but the game is 179.54mb.

Anyone not knowing, BFG now uses a Download Manager and several members have said it works great even on dialup.

Darleen, per earlier discussions, you've played this one before. I'd hate to see you download so much only to discover you already have it. wink That would certainly agitate me if I tied up computer for nothing.

Thanks for the headsup Linda. thumbsup

Yay. It's taken almost six months to get this game up there. smile Sooo many things to configure when putting a game up on a portal.

Anyone who has played this game care to comment on it?

Hi joanieS,
I will be very happy to comment on The Blackwell Legacy considering that it is the game that rescued me from being totally discouraged with the path that adventure games seemed to be taking. It was like the light at the end of a dark tunnel (and no, it wasn't a train coming at me, it truly was the open end) because it was true to the adventure genre, at least as I see it. It does not have razzle-dazzle 3D graphics that can make one dizzy (Ever see the Epilepsy Warning that comes with those games?) but rather the older, but still great, 2D hand-drawn scenes that put me right in the adventure with an interesting character that I liked and that didn't bounce off the walls when I moved her, for a nice change. True, the game did not have a lot of inventory, but it made up for that with a neat storyline that worked in intriguing ways that I found quite entertaining. All in all, I really, really liked this game. Well, it put adventure games back on the map for me so how could I ask for anything more!

Hi sierramindy -- it sounds like you enjoyed the game very much. thumbsup

The Epilepsy Warning, by the way, is (as far as I know) on all commercial games, not just 3D games. The problem (which is very rare) is triggered "...when looking at some types of strong flashing lights, rapid succession of images or repetition of simple geometric shapes, flashes or explosions."

Yes, Becky,
I really did enjoy it immensely and the following Blackwell Unbound as well. I want more and more games like this and I'm happy that there will be one more: The Blackwell Convergence.

As for the Epilepsy Warning, I dare say it is on all of the big commercial games as they keep trying to outdo each other. In the process the adventure part of the game is being lost to my way of thinking. Fancy 3D graphics, panning cameras, and blatant action scenes, and all that jazz do not an adventure make, more like a headache.
