ok, I got the wind to work and controls. Now the problem is when I open the cage , do the symbol at the linking bubble and come back to do the wind the second time I still don't get the arena that I'm supposed to be able to enter. Help. I took me about 3 times to do the whole starting windmill area to get it right, but I finnaly got the whole thing done right and now I'm where you go outside after you press those colord lights. I'm sure I'll get stuck again. Thanks for all your help. I probably would'nt be able to this without all your helps.

Congratulations on getting through that part, kozy! It sounds like you aren't stuck at the moment, but progressing well. Is that right?

o.k., now I'm confused again and I'm almost at the end of the game. Heres' where I'm at: I'm through the cave where theres a flag that you have to draw. Did that, did the linking thing pressed the new sign, had another meeting with Esher, saved the game, pressed the blue -lit slate, and that's where I got lost at. I didn't land in K'Veer. How do I land in K'Veer?

Kozy -- pressing the blue-lit slate (the entire slate should be glowing blue) ought to take you back to K'Veer -- you should be facing the bubble with all four slates now on the pedestals. If you turn around you should see a stone wall and stone stairs leading back into the building -- you're back in K'Veer in D'ni, or should be. grin

Where does it take you when you press the glowing blue slate?

after the last meeting with Esher and he leaves, I go to that bubble and I see the blue lit on and two others. what do I press to get to k'veer. I'm on the iland that held the keep, that's where I saw the blue lit slate and touched it and got lost from there.

Kozy -- if you really are near the end of the game, all four of the slates should be on their respective podiums. One of them will be glowing blue, and the other three slates will be rather dark, with the symbol on them just visible, and with sparkles on them occasionally. If you look into the center of the podiums, you'll see the golden tablet, and the "hook" that goes from each podium into the center should all be up, not attached to the golden tablet -- all EXCEPT for the "hook" from the blue glowing slate podium, which is the last one locking the golden tablet in.

When you press the blue glowing slate, that completely releases the golden tablet in the center so that it can be picked up. It's that that simultaneously sends you back to K'veer where you have to make a decision as to what to do with that center golden tablet.

It sounds to me as though you may have only 3 of the slates on the podium, and that you may either have another Age to finish, or you may have somehow not gotten one slate in one Age to the "Keep" bubble with the glowing blue slate.

Does this make sense? grin

lol Well, it IS confusing. Unless you're right there in the game, where it's a trifle less confusing.

Nobody ever said that Myst games were supposed to be extremely easy. Right?

can you tell me what all four slates are supposed to look like on the pedestal? Maybe that will help me figure out where I went wrong. The ones I have are:
the last one with the final sign, one with the keep sign, and the one with the keep symbol.

kozy -- the symbols on the pedestals are (I've looked at the walkthrough to match them with the Ages they came from):

Click to reveal..
1. A stacked group of rectangle-square-rectangle-square. This was the slate from Taghira, the snow Age.

2. A large circle with a smaller circle inside it, and a tiny circle near the top. This was the slate from Todelmer, the astronomy Age.

3. What looks like the profile of a whale or fish, with one eye showing, swimming left. This was the slate from Laki-ahn, the Age with the arena.

4. In the walkthrough, this slate has a larger circle surrounded on each side by four smaller circles. (In my game, which has slight differences, it's a diamond with four lines coming out of it.) This was the slate from Noloban, the Age where Escher caged and "examined" the Bahro.

I hope this helps!

ok., the one walkthrough I used didn't use the astronomy part at all. This was by Bert Jamin. Maybe you could look through it here at gameboomers walkthrough and tell me where to go to get that slate. That's the one I'm missing, the one with a large circle with a smaller circle inside it. Thanks,

Kozy, I think that sign came at the very end of the Age--at least that's where I'd look for it first. The Bahro makes the sign on a screen and then you copy it on a slate--does that sound right...think

You'll never guess what I just found out. I rechecked that walkthrough and there it was, I don't know how I missed printing that section out. Now I guess I have to start a new game because I don't know where to jump in at and I'm afraid I'll screw myself up again. How stupid could I be?

I don't think you have to start all over again, Kozy--just go back to that Age and find the spot where you missed the slate and do that part. I wouldn't worry about fouling up your game if you are planning on starting again anyway...luck

Thanks, I do get myself messed up alot, because I get so caught up in the game, that I can't wait to see what happens next. I guess I should slow down just a bit and not bother you guys so much. But I do like getting help. It really helps me get through and makes my frustration be a minimum. Please don't give up on me. You all have helped me so much. I love it.

Kozy -- no need to start the game again! If you've followed Bert Jamin's walkthrough from the beginning, you should be able to just go to Direbo (the place with all the linking bubbles and gates) and locate the linking bubble to Todelmer (Astronomy Age.)

You have a beautiful Age yet to explore! thumbsup

o.k. I found the spot where I was supposed to go into Todelmer, now I'm at the control room and at the control panel on the right side of the red stairs, moved the slider up, and the upper slider to the right, but I didn't see a green button. Can you help (again)?

Kozy -- Todelmer was hard! lol This may be one of those puzzles that's slightly different in each game -- you might try fiddling until it works. Or perhaps looking at one of the other Myst V walkthroughs will help.

Kozy,

The spot you describe is the Power Start panel, and it is around the back of the Red control room, accessed by a pathway behind the main controls area (look for a circular pathway to the right or left as you enter the Red Room). There are two levers on the Left and Right of a circular screen back there, but no green button (I think Bert calls it a Green Screen). In one of his walkthroughs I think Bert got the Left and Right reversed. He SAYS "move the Left lever to the top and the Right lever to the middle", but if that doean't start the ring around the screen rotating, try reversing those instructions (i.e., the Left lever to the middle, etc). When the ring rotates, you have power.

Let us know how you do.

Dadguy

I did just fine and went through the rest of the game again all the way to the last island where you meet Esher for the last time, and again, I'm missing that slate with a large circle and a smaller one inside it with one circle near the top. I was careful to do everything right this time and I don't know why I keep on not having that slate in the linking bubble with the other 3. Can you give an insight on this? Thanks. Or should I start from the astronomy age and go from there again?
