Hi I thought those boots were for "travelling at magic speeds" or something .... Not for "making a person undetectable" ?? Well, whatever they're for, I haven't got them yet Cheers. Mad

Hi Rowan I gave up on the levitating (temporarily) to go find the Boots - and now have them But of course, I can't see a thing if I actually wear them So now I need to find an item that will protect me from the blindness the boots cause .... [I've been visiting people who sell magic items but no luck so far ] On with the search Cheers. Mad

Mad, the Savior's Hide is your best bet because of the high resist magica. Just try the levitation at Tel Fyr and have a scroll of E(sp?)'s Locksplitter so you can open a 100 point lock. The closet itself is not guarded. The savior's hide also has a high armor rating and it's light armor.

The boots are great - I've used them since almost the beginning. My class has automatic 50% resistance to Magic so I've never had to have any other type of magic item. I finished the Temple Cult quests and got an Ebony Cuirass - it's worth something like 120,000 gold but I'm wearing it not selling it. I've also managed to kill two individuals who were wearing complete sets of ebony armor. I have to admit I look pretty darn spiffy in my coordinated outfit I'm looking for Duke Dren to get the last of my House Hlaalu Quests. I know someone told me where he was but for the life of me can't remember. I guess eventually I'll have to get back to the main quest if I can remember where I was in it. I visited a place called Mourmound (I think it was Mourmound) Anyway I was told I couldn't levitate so if that was one method of travel I was used to I was basically SOL. Someone from Ebonheart transported me there (I think she hangs around the door out of the council chamber). I wandered around a bit, checked out the fountains in the center of town, declined an offer to fill in for an actor and decided to leave for a while until I figured out where I was and what I was supposed to be doing there. I'm assuming it's either part of Tribunal or Bloodmoon. As soon as I finish my house quests I'm going to tackle the Morag Tong quests. Not sure I'll do anything more with the Thieves - we'll see. I'll have to up my sneak and slight of hand skills a lot more before I can tackle anything they throw at me. Well off to find a Duke. Good luck with your quests everyone - talk to you soon

Hi Syd .... I found the the speedy Boots and after that went after the Cuirass of Savior's Hide that Rowan told me about and eventually got that too - so I am pretty well fixed up for the moment Since fairly early on my armour has been the Green Glass set - which I got from a locked and trapped chest somewhere. It took quite some doing to snaffle it at that time as first I had to remember where it was (something I often find difficult in this game with both people and items) and then I had to keep going back to make a try for it - until one day I just managed to stay alive after the chest trap went off Whilst initially trying to improve my stats, I went willy, nilly exploring everywhere, trying my hand at fighting everyone and everything .... NOT always successfully of course .... but now I have started to try and do quests in a more orderly order fashion and at the moment am mainly working my way through Thieves Quests I really have very little idea of how much, if any, of the main plot I might have accomplished but who cares ?? I'm just having a whale of a time Love the game !!!! Cheers. Mad

The glass armor is great. It's the best non-enchanted light armor. I think the ebony is medium armor. Personally I'm going for the light armor because I'm a greedy thief who wants more weight for the inventory to help me in my pilfering career. If I find a better enchanted light armor, such as the Boots and the Hide, I just substitute. Once you have the ability to soul trap and have grand soul gems it's best to go after golden saints or ascended sleepers. They are the only filled soul gems that will give you constant effect. One of the mages in Balmora gave me a Soul Drinker short sword. I use that for the killing blows on my targets to fill my soul gems. Filled soul gems are also very light weight and very valuable so it's a great way to make money. I'm at the point where I just give Creeper everything for 5000 instead of the listed price as I find myself spending days just negotiating with him. The money from the soul gems more than makes up for the losses I take otherwise. Right now I really would like to find something with a constant effect feather spell. BTW, if you can create something with constant effect levitation it really cuts down on your travel. If you wear the Boots of speed you also levitate or fly at a faster rate.

Hi Rowan As well as exploring and fighting a lot, I also spend quite a bit of my money on training - which I feel has paid off well so far And yes .... I just swap the boots and stuff to fit whatever circumstances dictate .... but I was wondering whether I can I stick to "light" armour throughout or will I have to change to heavier stuff as I progress ?? I haven't acquired anything that allows me to "trap" souls yet although I have amassed quite a collection of gems to store them in And the only "constant effect" item I have (I think) is a very recent weapon. [I can't remember which one right now and I haven't had time to try it out yet either.] My most used weaponry (also highest skill points) is "Long Blade". I'm a dab hand with that I now have some other boots which allow me to levitate - also quite a recent addition - and I imagine I will find them pretty useful Hope to get back to Morrowind again this evening some time Cheers. Rowan look for a Robe called the Redas Robe of Deeds. That's what I'm wearing and it's constant feather. It's in the Tomb of Redas which is somewhere down south - just can't remember where. The ebony armor is heavy but since I'm a battlemage it's what I wear and it's so pretty, all gold and black I have so much money now - almost 2 million I think, and so many expensive weapons sitting down by Sir Crab that I haven't sold yet, I don't even loot bodies anymore - I do check and look in crates etc for grand soul gems but that's about it. I think I have 12 filled ones now and 6 empty. Mad what you found were the Boots of the Apostle - I love them and use them all the time even though I have a levitate spell because the boots use less magic. Found my duke only to be told I'm not worthy enough to do business with him [sigh]. I checked my stats and found out I need to increase one of my skills to 70 so I'm off to find a trainer in Security or short blade.

Hi fellow Morrowinders, I am away from home for the weekend and I need to get out of Big Fish and back to Morrowind when I get home. I got that feather robe on a quest for Redoran, I think, bt I gave it up to the questgiver. I think the hints said I will get it back when I reach a certain level in the house quests. I wonder how long that will be, I really would like it right now. I have something with that night-eye, but forget now what it is. I will look at it on Monday morning. This thread is really making me miss the game, thank goodness the kids go back to school this week.
What kind of magic spell to use?

OK, a question from a complete newb in this game. Yay! I'm finally at level 2! But, what is this Blinding Boots of Speed I just got? If I put them on, I'm completely blind? What's up with that? I can see something that says 200 to speed, but Blind is all I get...

Welcome to Morrowind Drac - The Boots of Blinding Speed are great as long as you have something to counteract the blinding part. My character naturally has 50% resistance to magic so the boots don't affect me much - just kind of dims things a little. To be able to wear them you're going to have to find an amulet, ring or article of clothing that resists magic. I'm in the process of building my stronghold now. If it takes as long in the virtural world as it does in the real world I could be without a home for a very, very long time I just finished up a misc quests - got an invisible kid visable again and now am off to do my first Morag Tong chore. I also trained up my sneak skills so I'm going to attempt a Thieves Guild quest and see how it goes - Sugar Lips what's her face wants me to steal a key - right.........

Aha! I figured as much. Oh, well. I'll just keep them in inventory until I get what I need to counteract the blinding. Hawka warned me I would feel weak and miserable in the beginning!

Don't you feel pathetic, I did and I see do when someone whoops my behind. Doesn't happen as often as it did though. I have the boots, left them sitting in my room at the Mages Guild in Balmora til I have something to counteract the spell. I might have something but I have to look through all my stuff.
What have you joined Draclvr? When you are out in the country, remember to pick everything, if you joined the Mages you will need stuff. Flower, fungus, all that stuff, you never know.

Mad you can stick with light if you want. The only reason I'm wearing heavy is that it's one of my skills but I could wear any type if I wanted.
