Hi all,

Sounds like you are doing great. smile

When you have to choose sides is where I usually split the game into 2 saves. The Dark Side save and the Light side save so I can play 2 games. They each will start to pick up different quests.

So when you have picked up each guy and your screen has changed to either white screen or black screen that is were I saved so I could tell which game I was playing.

The only thing you have to watch out for is not to save in the wrong place if you overwrite a game.

Still looking for town portal. It wasn't in the Tularian Forest. Tried doing the Pit quest with invisibility but it is hard to avoid all the enemies. I did get as far as the Pit itself.

Later...have the altar piece. It takes a fairly high disable traps skill. There is a tunnel where you can renew the invisibility skill when it runs out.

Can you find items needed to fulfill a quest if you haven't been given the quest? I know it worked with the golem but there was one that didn't seem to work. I was in the pit and thought I'd get an item needed for a promotion.

Found Town Portal in the desert. Traveling is easier now. I got credit for the Vampire quest even though I hadn't finished it.

You can find quest items before getting the quest. You should be able to talk to the quest giver, get the quest, then talk to him again, & get credit for the quest. If you got credit for the wine cellar quest, you must have killed the head vampire.

Town Portal does make a difference, doesn't it? smile When you get GM in water, it's even better. You can TP out in the middle of a battle & also use Lloyd's Beacon at any time. Have you been to the Breeding Zone in the Pit? That's where you find the book of Divine
Intervention for the archmage promotion.

Pokey you're doing terrific - I just chose the new arbiter and am now looking for the house to park him in. It's kind of nice being back in Harmondale after the goblins that used to kick our collective keisters respawned and now we're kicking them - soothes the ego after getting knocked around by all the other baddies I can't seem to beat.

I have all the quests finished except for the golem, finding the meditation spot inside Barrow downs (since I don't have a paladin in my group not sure I'll worry about this), finding the statues, finishing my acromage victories, finding all the obelisks and getting two more pictures which I don't have a clue how I'm going to get since the guards won't let me into the corridors and visit the three Stonehenge monoliths, oh and kill a dragon. I've had this hanger on for half the game now. That's just the quests I know about. I also haven't been to all the areas.

Smiley how are you doing? Still with us?

I've been to the Breeding Zone--stopped by when returning from the Altar Piece quest. I didn't find the book and thought I had done all the area and thus the question. Having Town Portal to return will be nice, though I don't know where the fountain is.

Syd, it took me a while to get to the arbiter's place and the same deal with the Zimm house in the desert.

Pokey I found the arbiter's house and now am trying to get some promotion quests completed. My group is still only at the expert level and they need to master because they are getting wiped out. I'm in Deja after the two more golem parts then I can get my sorcerer up to wizard. I'm not even going to try to get into the Titans stronghold right now. I don't think I'd last 30 seconds.

My cleric has been promoted to priest. Looks like the paladine promotion is a tough one, so I'll try for the thief next. Since I have the Town Portal I might as well try some of the quests in the Pit.

Hi all,

Pokey...the fountains are usually in the center of the towns.

In the Pit I beleive it is right in front of the Tavern.

You should click on the fountains as soon as you reach any town even if you don't have Town Portal yet because once you learn TP you will be able to teleport to the town.

This works the same in all of the Might and Magic games for TP except in MM 8 where you have an Altar to click on.

I checked out the Pit and it is in front of the tavern, which is convenient. Stone City doesn't show up as a choice even though it has a fountain. Avlee doesn't have one. It looks like there may be one missing on my map about where Stone City should be.

Well I've struggled through the Nighon Tunnels and what do I find? Minatours slapforehead I can't even run past them - looks like I'll have to leave until I get something that will help with these critters. Any ideas on what spells will work? Any ideas on how to get by them?

I assume you are in the Thunderfist tunnels. You should be able to run by them. I tried battling them--didn't bother them at all. Are you heading toward the northwest exit? It is the easiest and shortest.

Oops sorry about not clarifying where I was at. You're right Pokey - I'm trying to get into Mount Nighon so I can get two members of my party to master.

Northwest you say? Naturally I'm trying to go NE -go figure.

Hi Smilley - I somehow wound up with right around 120,000 gold. Not sure how that happened. I'm sure a lot of it will be used up when I get my group up to master level. I did buy the Town Portal spell - 8000 gold thank you very much. Now I need to get past these dratted Minatours so I can level up and use it.

If you check back a ways in the thread you will see I did the same thing. Make a quick left turn when you start out.

Hi all,

Syd....RUN!!!!
That is the only way I got past them and don't stop until you get to the exit.

Pokey...The towns that don't have fountains is where Lloyd's Beacon comes in handy. This is a bookmark which has to be updated now and then so you don't loose it.

I am having a very tough time in the Breeding Zone. I got past the pool with invisibility, but in the hall beyond is a goblin-like character walking in place. There is no way to get by him without touching him. My invisiblity is nearly gone anyway. Is there anyplace in there where I can cast invisibility? The only place I've discovered so far is in a tunnel far away. Any tips for this?

And how do I get out of this place without dying? Town Portal won't work.

Even I agree that the Breeding Zone is a real pain in difficulty.

As for getting out, have you checked out the walkthrough for at

http://www.flamestryke.com/mm7/flamestrykes_mm7.html

Since I always go by it for the most annoying places wave

I have the book and am at the exit of the Breeding Zone trying to get up the stairs out but there are a dozen necromancers, a lich, and numerous ghosts waiting for me.

Nickie, you said you used Jump to get by hordes here. How did you do that? I can't even get to the top of the stairs and turn before I'm dead. If I could get a bit further, I could jump to the adjacent platform with fewer enemies.

The Halls of Mist was very easy compared to this.

I went straight at them, and then jumped over them, and kept doing it until I could get to somewhere I could go in, then repeat the process to the next place, and make my way through. When I first tried it, I never thought it would work, but I was scratching my head.

Getting out of the Pit with a light party is very difficult. I usually put some money in the bank before I go in, just in case. The only thing you can do is RUN! Or accept the death & go bankrupt.

I wish I had thought to put my money in the bank. mad

I had no idea that they could make the game this unfair. I don't think I have the energy to do it all over again. It is so hard getting into the Breeding Zone with so many enemies in the way.

I did whittle down the number of ghosts, spectors and shades but the necromancers are so powerful I have little chance.

Nickie, I've been trying different jumping maneuvers with little success. I run and have my Sorceress cast jump, but three other characters have to have their turn before we can jump again. I'm not very good at making this work and it is sure hard to cast jump when you are running with all your fingers occupied by the navigation keys.

Where is a place I can go inside?

I finally figured out a way to beat it. I ran out and to the right, which seemed to be less congested. I figured if I could make it to the bank in the Pit with one member of the party alive, I could deposit the gold and then die. Took a lot of tries but I finally got lucky and made it with three party members still alive. Back in Harmondale with all my 86,000 cash. laugh

Luckily the bank was open at the time because there is no way to change the clock.

Glad you made it through Pokey! I play with at least two sorcerers in the party, so I think that makes it easier. Much harder in the beginning of the game, but much easier towards the end.

That's impressive, Pokey. bravo I rarely make it out of there alive! Town Portal doesn't work there because you can't use it when there are monsters nearby until you make grandmaster. Now that you have the book, you can get promoted to archmage and learn GM in water.
