I am now the official Acromage Champion and 110,000 gold richer laugh There was also a nice piece of Elven Chain armor and a sword in the chest that I think I will sell since the armor is not as good as my guys are wearing.

Now to a trainng ground to get more training. Then off to the Grand Master trainer in Body Magic for my Cleric.

Would Earth Magic do me any good? I know in MM6 I used it a lot for the Rock people and the minatours but so far haven't found anything I really could use it for unless it would work against those Behemoths. I also have no one skilled in Mind or Spirit Magic - should I?

I know that Spirit magic is very effective against Behemoths. I just got Spirit Lash for my Paladine, though he can only get to Master. You have to stand very close though--nose to nose--or it doesn't work.

I haven't been able to do much against the Behemoths even with all my spells. Our armor is usually broken before we can kill an ancient one.

Later...Tolberti quest is done. It was easy when I cornered him and used the Protection from Magic spell. Level 45 now. I'm broke again after leveling up and see that all my beacons were wiped out by 4 months passing quickly.

Seems like we all are having problems lol
I'm starting to catch up to you Pokey wave

My party is currently at level 38. But it's annoying to run around and look for the teachers frown

Smiley, that is one thing I dislike about this game. You have to find out who you need for an instructor, then look him up on a map and hope you can remember where he is, and then when you get there, you sometimes hear that your character is not eligible. A lot of bookkeeping is involved when I would rather be exploring. The difficulty is unbalanced at times. You might whip through one quest with invisiblity, but the next involves long slogging battles with little progress. I have no idea how I am going to get through the Eeofol tunnels.

Any way my Thief can get Spirit Magic? He is not very effective even at Dagger GM. Maybe I don't understand how this game works. My Thief may attack twice in a row and do no damage at all, but my Paladine seems to do 80-90 each time with Spirit Lash. But then our armor gets broken and we all die very quickly. frown

Yeah, that's the part I dislike, since it's not organized when it comes to the trainers (specially when it comes to the master level in water magic)

I've finally been to Nighon, phew. Next stop, getting some training and find some more trainers. Are there any books for the master skill in Earth? Since I didn't find any in Tularean Forest frown

Smiley, try Stone City for Master Earth spells and The Pit for GM Earth.

My tired little band is in The Pit right now getting killed by the Queens of the Dead that roam around this place. I'm after the second altar piece (the one in the Dark Temple) and it's been a trial. I'm fighting my way through because I need to level up some more but it's rough down here.

Pokey I decided to fight my way through because I needed to level up and I needed gold. I just finished cleaning out The Pit (at least until it respawns) - and am now on my way to Castle Gloaming to get the Soul Jars.

There was a lot of gold and a really good set of plate armor in the sleeping quarters of the dark temple guys. Unfortunately I'm near broke again because I trained my group up to level 41 or 42. Jeez gold goes fast in this game.

I'm broke too and looking for a place to get some gold. Guess I'll check it out. I haven't been doing any fighting and I am leveling fast. Training is so expensive when you go up several levels at once. I need to buy a few skill levels and some GM spells.

It depends on which training center you decide on useing. The training center in Tatalia is much cheaper than the one in Avlee (for example)

How about going Troll hunting in Tatalia? Since you get nice sums of gold from their corpses laugh
(That's how I've been getting my gold supply)

I've finished the quest for Crag Hack, but the Queen of the Dead are really painful specially when you meet two eek

I keep forgetting to shop around for the cheapest training - thanks for the reminder Smiley laugh

I just finished the Soul Jar quest and now have the Tolberti quest and from reading about it from you Pokey - I'm certain I'm not ready. Pokey do you remember where you got the Protection from Magic spell you used to help beat this guy?

Syd, probably either Erathia or Avlee, since those are the master and paramount guilds. The only other one is in Harmondale. There is a listing of guilds at this site--Character Dev and then Guilds:

The Tunnels to Eeofol is a real pain, specially the last part before you reach the exit to the Land of Giants frown Where did all the Behemoths come from think

How's it going for you Pokey? Have you made it to the Land of Giants yet?

How's it going for your party Syd?

Smiley, I'm still stuck in the same place--the first bunch of Behemoths you meet. Looks like a long slog. Even when I nearly have one killed, they switch places and I have to start over again. That makes it hard to kill one and go heal. The Earth GM spell costs 23,000 and I only have 12,000.

Any tips are appreciated. There must be an easier way.

If your party has GM in Air and the Invisbility spell, go and pay a visit to the Titan's Stronghold and just run around in there collecting gold and stuff you can sell.
(Got over 200,000 when I did that)

Smiley, I've done that. Yes a lot of gold for little effort. Seems like I only got 100,000 though. Did I miss something? I did the trolls in Tatalia too, but that doesn't get much. Is the blaster anything special? Maybe I can train my Thief in that. I might check out the Pit for more gold.

I've bought a few spells on a trial basis, but the only one that is very effective is Spirit Lash.

Did/do you have a banker NPC along with your party? Since you always get 20% more on the gold you collect.

The blaster is supposed to be useful when you enter the space ship (Lincoln) at the bottom of the shoals.

But it doesn't cost anything to upgrade, except skill points smile

If you end up having difficulties with the behemoths at the last part before the exit to the Land of Giants. There is a way to make it a bit easier.

http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c386/FallenWarrior3/?action=view&current=MightandMagic7.jpg

That way, you can trick them and beat them a bit easier laugh (works for me, but you have to kill the Medusas around that area)

Nope, no banker. I got blaster GM and it increased the attack rating from 28 to 67 but didn't help much. How can you repair the armor during battle--looks hopeless. I need Power Cure and it cost 20,000. I can get an ancient behemoth down 3/4 and then a new one steps in front so I can't finish off the first.

If you have a knight in your party he/she can become GM in Repair Item, otherwise you'll need an armorer NPC to do the job.

But I don't see how you can fight and repair armor at the same time. My cleric is busy healing and can't afford to lose turns repairing armor.

When it's your turn (in turn based combat), klick on the one that's going to make the move (so that you get to the inventory). After that you just klick on the character/s that has the broken armor and move it to the one who has the repair skill.

Then you go to the one with the repair skill and let him/her fix the armor. After that you only have to move the armor back to the character/s before exiting the inventory (since it'll still be your move) thumbsup

I didn't realize that you could switch to the repair person when it wasn't their turn. I found a way to solve the problem though. My cleric learned alchemy to expert and made harden item potions and used them on the armor. We nearly killed an ancient behemoth that way, so if we also harden the shields and weapons, we should do much better. Off to make some potions.

Later---killed the first four behemoths and then met up with a bunch more. Would still like to get a couple more spells and I wish my thief was more effective. My paladine and sorcerer are doing great and I am raising their skill level a bit more.

Smiley my little party is in Thunderfist Mountain doing battle with Minatours and Floating Eyes. At least I've been able to kill them which I couldn't a few days ago.

I have a long way to go to catch up to you and Pokey. I do need to train and level up again. I have about 112,000 gold give or take. I'm seriously thinking of heading to the Titan's Stronghold to gather more gold. I do need to clean out my party's inventory - it is clogged with "stuff" I don't think I'll need.
