Not sure how high it needs to be, actually...and I thought items didn't transfer if you were caught? You could always use a calm or domination (can't remember which the name was) to calm her down afterwards so she doesn't attack you, right? Then try again, perhaps...
Are they dead? Yes. Unlike you they have but one life...and they wasted it for your sake!

Drizzt is right, you don't get the goods if you are caught. The Sneak level needed usually depends on the NPC and your location, but if I recall correctly you should have a sneak of over 50 to be successful. A good chameleon spell or chameleon enchanted jewelry will help out quite a bit if you need a boost.

Glad you got it Rowan. The way I did it was I taunted her until she attacked me, I killed her then took the book. No Crime, no penalties. Anytime you commit a crime and get caught, even tho you pay the fine, all the stuff you've stolen will be taken from you. I learned that the hard way and lost my Sword of white Woe that I "liberated" from a tower. Kim

Rowan I had a hard time to taunting but I learned the secret from either TrailMystic or Hagatha: Bribe the person until their disposition at least 75 then start taunting them. They will take the bait everytime and attack you. Then you kill and loot them without repercussion. You can find or buy scrolls called "unhinging" (I forget the first name. They let you open things things with high lock levels.
the UESP site has good info and maps for this game as does the Planet elder Scrolls site Good luck Kim

You need the Lock Splitter spell scrolls.
Starting at about level 15 you can find them in smuggler caves. I saved about 25 of them for really high level locks and then finally realized, after hanging on to them for all that time, that I'm able to open any lock with a lockpick.
If you aren't high enough in lockpick just keep picking away until your level increases. A lot of the time I've been able to get through a lock I thought was beyond my level just by persevering. Also, it seems to me that Master and Grandmaster lockpicks work better on those tough locks.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I think it's on top of a chest or cupboard in the guard's quarters. Probably a cupboard. I remember having to jump up on a bed to see it.
If you aren't playing a patched version of the game, there will be a number of these lockets, but if you are playing a ptched version there will just be the one.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I finally found someone that sells the Summon Golden Saint spell -- not scrolls, the actual spell -- in Tel Branora.
I've never found that one before. Of course, now I don't need any more filled soul gems, but they may come in handy later, in Tribnal or Bloodmoon.

It's really shameful, isn't it? And they look so -- saintly. It's probably really, really evil to summon them and kill them for sport.

Hagatha, what did you do with your captured golden saint? I have one in a soul gem but can't decide what to do with it. Also, I have been looking everywhere for some magic arrows to buy or steal, and no one seems to have any! Does someone know of a site that would give this information? Or what character would have lots of arrows? I can make some myself but it would take lots more time to gather up the parts and enchant them than I want to take right now. I'm currently in Balmora but have also looked around Caldera. Andy

My character has tons of constant effect jewellery and clothing made from Golden Saint soul gems.
Currently, my character has a ring that gives Constant Effect Invisibility so she can travel without being molested by cliff racers, she has a shirt and skirt that give a constant effect boost to her Magic and Endurance, she has a constant effect amulet that boosts her Strength enormously, and she has a number of other items that come in very handy!
I don't think you can make your own enchanted arrows, nor will an enchanter do it for you. I have found lots of them on bodies, but it seems pretty random. I can't remember if I've ever foound a merchant that sells them, but there must be one or two around.
A high Marksman skill combined with silver arrows is pretty effective. I've been saving all my enchanted arrows and never actually end up using them unless I really have to -- which is almost never at this point.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The other souls that give you a Constant Effect enchantment are from Ascended Sleepers.
You can seriously buff your character's stats with the Constant Effect items. You can level a stat like strength or intelligence up to 100 and then increase it to 130 if you wear enough items enchanted with Constant Effects.
This was discussed on the other Morrowind thread -- you can also enchant an item with Constant Effect Bound weapons like longsword or bow, which increase your stats in those skills.
Just make sure, when you go to an enchanter to make the item (and ALWAYS use exquisite jewelery or clothing for constant effect items) that you select "constant effect" from lower left portionof the enchantment screen.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks for all your great ideas. I have passed up some exquisite clothing, and now I know that was a mistake. The only thing I have enchanted so far is my right gauntlet, to which I added shock damage for any close fighting. But I have an exquisite ring and would like to put a levitate spell on that. Well, I still have some more stuff to get. Silver arrows, eh? I can probably find those around. I think my marksman skill is way up there now. Thanks for your help! Andy

If I recall correctly "Soul Drinker" is a Daedric dagger given by one of the Mages guild folks during said same quests. I think it might be Ranis Athrys in Balmora?

I think you're correct, TM. I always find it early in the game.
But you can use a spell scroll to trap a soul, and then create your own Souldrinker sword (you have to know the Soul Trap spell in order to do this).
Alternatively, the Caldera Mage Guild has some pre-filled soul gems that you could borrow to use for this once you find a reasonably decent piece of weaponry. Just do the enchanting somewhere else.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hi all. I just installed Tribunal and Bloodmoon and it seems my game has changed a little. I seem to lose health faster and when I'm fighting a yellow status bar appears over my health bar. Does anyone know what the yellow represents because it disappears along with my health stats.

I get the yellow bar in Morrowind also. It represents the how much life is left in your opponent. If the yellow bar goes down faster than the red it means you are winning. If the red bar goes down faster then you are in trouble. I'm doing the Bethamez quest for Edwinna the mage. I've found the airship plans and the book. However, Edwinna continues to say to get the blueprints. There is nothing left in Bethamez. I've been there twice and haven't found anything else. Can anyone help me complete this quest and keep Edwinna happy? Nevermind, I had the wrong conversation option.
