While exploring in a tomb called Maren, I killed Crazy Batou and then got a message that I had broken the main quest or something like that. I reloaded and exited the tomb. It seems to me that I heard somewhere that this was a glitch and that nothing happens if you kill this guy. However, I'm not sure. Has anyone else run into this?

I honestly don't remember ever running into anyone caled Crazy Batou anywhere in the game, ever. So I can't say he's of any importance to the Main Quest.

Edit: According to info on the official site, you can ignore the message about the Main Quest if you kill him -- and he has a nice helm!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks, hagatha. He won't get a second chance the next time I'm in the vicinity. devil

I've run into an annoying glitch. I'm fighting the guy in Ebonheart for the Lord's Mail, a quest item for the Imperial Legion. Every time I kill him he falls through the ground and disappears. That means I can't loot his body for the L's Mail. I've tried this several times and it's always the same. How do I use the console to write this item into my inventory? I really want to wrap up the Legion quests because I want to dump my dumb uniform asap. It's just extra weight to tote around.

Edit: I figured it out - had to play with the spacing a bit to get it right.

I'm finally nearing the end of the Main Quest. But my character is lugging around a huge amount of loot, so soon I'll have to make a few runs over to Creeper and sell it all. I don't want to leave all my shinies in the mage guild bedroom while i trundle off to Tribunal. Better to stash them with Creeper.

I haven't found a decent bandit cave in ages. I must have gone around the enrite coastline! No more Grand Soul gems. *sniff*.

I'm using blunt weapons now, to keep from levelling up. Time to maximize my magica, and start being a real mage, I guess.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, do you have Azura's Star? Once you have that I don't think you need any more soul gems except for cash.

I'm at the point where I am selling everything that I don't want to Creeper for 5000 gold regardless of its value. I find it such a waste of time buying and selling back and forth just to get the correct change, etc. I never buy anything anyway except for training.

I made it to the top level of the Legion and have put my "uniform" in storage. Good riddance. I'm near the top of the mages and the thieves but no one will give me any more quests because I need more "experience". I will have to concentrate of leveling up some of their favorite skills except no one will teach me any more either. I may have to sniff out a couple of master trainers.

With Magic, all I do is cast a spell repeatedly until my magica runs out -- a spell that uses a small amount of magica is best. Water breathing is a good one, for example.

I haven't tried this ploy in Morrowind, but it worked in Oblivion. Find a level 75 lock and cast Ondusi's Open Door at it repeatedly. Lockpicking skill goes up because the spell can't open the lock. Might be worth a try.

There's a high level trainer east of Vivec, near the home of one of the councillors you have to see for the Hortator quest. She is standing on the road. There's another one in one of the propylon chambers in the north part of the Island (I can't remember which one).

I can't remember all my stats, but I do have 99 in Strength and 98 in Intelligence. The other stats are in the mid 60's to mid 70's, but some of these are buffed.

I'm actually buffed to 130 Strength, but soon I will forsake Strength for Magic abilities. Unless I find something unique I won't take it any more.

Amazing, though, how as you increase your Strength you just end up carrying more. I must have 75 pounds of spell scrolls and 150 pounds of potions. Not to mention the unbelievable number of soul gems I'm carrying --probably 200 pounds worth of those. I'm just using them all up to increase my enchant skill now.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The only potions I carry are the ones that replenish mana and some health. All others I sold and replaced with reusable spells. Mana is about the only thing you can't replenish with spells. Curing corprus disease was a great benefit because I was able to get rid of all my cure blight and disease potions. An item with constant effect nighteye allows you to get rid of all those heavy torches. Right now the only truly heavy items I have are the armorer hammers. Sometimes when looting and just need a couple of extra pounds to prevent encumbrance I decide to repair my stuff. That uses up some hammers and lightens the load again. Finding the Fists of Randagulf really increased the load I could carry.

Yes, really the only potions I need are magica, health, Wisdon and Intelligence (just in case I get zapped with something that reduces my character to a drooling idiot who can't cast the "Restore" spells).

I've never used a light or torch, and I imagine that's why I'm still missing one or two propylon indexes. In my next game I will make the indexes a priority, because this is really the best way to travel. It's a bit late in this game, unless I decide to join a House when I'm done with Tribunal.

I think I'll play the Telvanni House quests when I'm done with all the other factions. I've played the other two houses in previous games. I'm not really a magey person but I think I'll try that anyway.

The Tels are fun, and your stronghold is a wonder to behold. It takes some patience getting it, though. And here's a warning. Don't store anything in it while it is still a teensy-weesny little stronghold, because it morphs.

Okay, finally made it to Mournhold.

I'm trying to decide whether I like having the companions or not. I gave the fighter the Lord's armour and some other very fine equipment, including an ebony sword, and yet he still managed to rush in and get killed at every opportunity. I ended up telling him to stay put while I explored the sewers. He can lug a few pounds, but it's not really worth it.

The pack rat is sort of sweet, though.

I've been trying to do the daedric quest for Molag Bal. I'm supposed to go to Kora Dur cave and kill a daedre called Menta Na. I've been through all of Kora Dur and cannot find Menta Na. I'm quite sure that there are no secret passages left as I have constant effect levitating and water breathing. It is possible that I have already killed him from a distance with my bow. However, I did not get a journal entry. Maybe i won't get an entry until I report back to Molag Bal. I've gone back to his shrine but the statue diesn't talk to me.

What I would like to try is to script in Menta Na in case I killed him. Maybe he was supposed to talk to me first but since I might have killed him from a distance I will never know. I would like to script him in with the console, kill him again, and hope the quest resolves itself. I've tried this script: PlaceAtPC "Menta Na",1,2,1 but I get a messsage that it doesn't recognize Menta Na. I've tried it with a hyphen in the name, without a hyphen, with an underscore, caps and lower case, but it doesn't make a difference. Does anyone know what the correct script is? Where can I find the script name for him?

I ran into a similar problem with a quest earlier in the game, where I had killed one of the vampires prior to receiving a quest.

I returned to the person who gave me the quest, and the quest was then noted as complete.

I don't know if this will work for you, but it would be worth checking it out. I've never heard of Menta Na.

If you have the game guide the quest is found on p. 323. The are 7 daedric quests in all. Whenever you are in a shrine with a huge statue try to activate it by clicking on it. Some, but not all, statues will give you a quest. Many are quite different from the usual faction quests.

If anyone has the correct script for me, I would appreciate it.

Hey, Rowan, I haven't been able to find out anything about this quest, other than a walkthrough, which won't help. I could not find a specific code for what you need.

Thank you, thank you, Caroline! That was it! praise praise praise

I now killed Menta Na again and I got an instant journal entry. The beauty of it was that I didn't even have to go back to Kora Dur to do it. I just scripted him in the shop I happened to be in and did my deed. I've been back to Kora Dur three times looking for him and wasn't about to make that long trek to nowhere again.

Thanks for trying to help, Hagatha. I often think that you and I have have similar play styles.

I never, ever attack someone unless they come at me first. Whenever I enter a cave I wait to see if it's a 'friendly" cave or not before i do anything. So they deserve what they get.
