We must be in the same place, Rowan, cause I've been having ash storms too! Now I can outrun just about anything or anyone. And levitation is turning out to be indispensible. Does anyone know if there is an alternative to carrying around armorer's hammers to repair weapons? My armorer's skill is still so low that I use up a hammer and don't repair the weapon! So I need to do something about this - I have a wonderful assassin's short blade that is really deadly, when it's working. Andy

Andy Other than paying an armorer to repair the item, no. Your armorer level goes up the more you use the skill so be patient and persevere . You can also use Repair Tongs, which are cheaper and lighter, but get used up a bit quicker.

Tongs are the best. I usually buy 15 at a time when I'm in a town, and repair everything I can. That way I only need to carry four or five of them around with me for emergency purposes. Any time I come across a repair hammer or tongs in a dungeon I use it immediately and discard what's left of it if I can't handle the weight.
By the time your armourer skill reaches about level 30 or so you will find that it's become quite useful.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Isn't that the key to a good real estate deal? Well my stronghold was built in the middle of nowhere in the ominous sounding district of Ulvirith's Grave. Dead vegetation everywhere, frequent ash storms (don't need windows because it would be impossible to keep up with cleaning them). No near transportation. And a dead body in the dungeon. At least the neighbours are quiet.
But shopping is handy as there are 4 merchants on the stronghold estate. And it comes guarded with patrolling metal centurions.
I better continue the main quest so the ash storms will stop. Then I can see what I got. I really like the Tel stronghold. I skipped the Great Houses this time around. I might go back and do the Hlaalu quests later, since I have never done them. But right now I'm trying to decide whether to play Bloodmoon as a vamp or not.

OK, good suggestion on the tongs - I'll be on the lookout for some. I usually get my stuff repaired while in town somewhere, but as you said, hagatha, you sometimes need to make emergency repairs. Thanks for the help - Andy

True, but the hammers weigh more than the tongs, which is why I prefer the latter.

Hi Guys, it's been awhile. I cannot kill this Gedna person in the tomb. I'm a level 47 and he still kills me everytime. Anybody got any advice on what worked for you? Thanks Kim

Hi, Kim. I can't speak from personal experience, but I did find this post on another forum: Her most powerful offensive is her spellcasting, which killed me in about two hits, and I had to be quick with the exclusive healing potions (thanks, goblins!) or else I would die quick, fast, and in a hurry. To make things worse, she's got all of those Skeleton Champions. When you get to her little lair, poke around the corner and one rat and one Skeleton will come at you. Lead them back a bit and kill them. There is one Skeleton and one rat that you can't lure away without Gedna attacking. Every time I ran at her head on, I would get pounded by the Skeleton, or blocked by the rat. This left me open to her spell attacks. If I went straight to pounding on her (got around the rat and skeleton), the champ and the rat would get me from behind while she wailed on me. Invisibility does not work on her, she will still see you. I thought I could go for a critical hit... Never tried chameleon. Here's how to do it: First, get some reflection potions. Remember, the effects stack, so drink a few of them until you're at 100% or close to it. Now her spell will go right back at her. I personally had the Savior's Hide (60% resist magicka), Ring of Equity (Absorb 100pts, reflect 70%, 30sec), Robe of Drakes Pride (Reflect 25%), and a custom amulet that gives me 25-55 shield for 30 sec, and a few other nice things to help me out. But it wasn't until I used the Ring of Equity and the reflect potions that I knocked her out. Drinking a few Sujammas helps, as it will take less hits to kill her. Also, when you go at her don't go straight up the middle. If you run to the far west side of the lair, then come around at her side, it puts the skeleton and the rat behind her. Also, it seems to take her a second or so longer to attack. I said above that this is the SECOND easiest way to do it that I found. There is another, though I only did it without saving because I was frustrated and I hated her. I wanted to make her suffer. So I used the ultimate power you have in the game... Push the difficulty slider down to -100. It's like slicing a really ugly magical baby. I keep my slider at 100 in my game, and usually don't bring it down unless I really can't get through a fight, which isn't often. Using the method above, I beat Gedna with the slider at 100. Maybe some of my stats or enchanted items helped me out in the fight, but I think the main thing to remember with her is REFLECTION (Absorption is nice too!). Also, she's really resistant to magic, so you'll probably need to resort to melee. My character doesn't use too much destruction magic, so maybe a powerful magic user would fare better. I do know that my sword, Natures Wrath (Daedric Dai-Katana Chop 1-60, Shock 13-14, Fire 13-14, Frost 13-14) popped up every hit with "Target Resisted Magic." Maybe there's something in there that will be useful.

Thanks Marion. Do you happen to know where the difficulty slider is. I've never heard of it. Thanks Kim

Thanks Marion. I found the slider and lowered it a bit and I beat Gedna. It was still a hard fight but I finally beat her. She's the hardest character I've met so far. Thanks for your help Marion Kim

Need another help. I'm in the smugglers cave in Solstheim on the first quest. I took Artori with me and after we killed all the smugglers she wouldn't talk to me again. She also wouldn't follow me. Is this a bug? I didn't kill her either. Thanks Kim

She did the same thing to me. Maybe she saw us stealing something?
Not to worry, it didn't change anything in the game. I just left her in the cave, since she's being such a stick inthe mud.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

That was probably it because I loaded up in the cave. Thanks Hagatha. I thought I needed her to get another quest or something.

No, once you've cleaned out the cave, she's not needed.

I just finished Bloodmoon, and now...what?
I think I'll go back to Vaardenfell and join a house. I'm only level 49! Too young to be finished.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
