I think I tried the Alchemist in the Trade Quarter but I'll try again. I'm still building funds for armor. I was feeling pretty cocky and then ran into a Royal Wyvern.

Speaking of which, I also ran into a Moa, but didn't want to kill it yet as I don't have it listed in my Bestiary. Does anyone remember which book it is that gives you the Moa and where it might be found? Or is there a data base floating around on the web with this info?

I hope to play some tomorrow, so I'll let you know if noon does the trick with the nurse.

GameBanshee has a good list of monsters etc, but a Moa is not listed. The Witcher at GameBanshee

Oh, yeah, the Royal Wyverns are tough - especially when a bunch of them come at you at the same time!

Hmmmmm, maybe I just misread it. I'll check again tomorrow and let you know.

edit: I just googled it. Moa is the name of an ancient royal wyvern, so I can work on whittling them down.

I have several bombs and got the bomb skill. Do I put the bombs in my quick slot to use them?

That nurse is only ever outside the hospital (she stands right of the front door but back a little) between noon and 1pm

I haven't met a "Moa" either, looney4labs, but I do remember learning at school many, many, many eons ago, that they were flighless birds of New Zealand, now extinct

But I've finished the main game now and have no idea how to access the two "extra" stories .... Side Effects and Price of neutrality.

With other games, extra adventures have usually appeared on an opening screen so that they can be "selected" but I can't find any similar option for The Witcher

Help would be much appreciated

Mad, thanks--I must be checking at the wrong times. I don't know how to get to the extra content.

Mad to play the new adventures, when you first launch Witcher, you click on new game and you should see two options. One is play witcher and the other is new adventures or something like that. Anyway click on the one on the right that says adventures and it will give you the option of whichever new adventure you want to proceed with.

All right--played this morning as I'm b'sitting this afternoon til Sat.

Mad, went to the hospital at noon, and yep, there was the nurse. Finished that quest and went back to 'grandma's' to see if she liked me now, but nope, she tossed me right back out and threatened to call the guards.

Now I'm trying to find Jethro--he's not in the prison, so maybe he's in the sewers--but I'm not sure when I'll be able to go sewer crawling

It doesn't have to be the dwarven liquor as long as it is strong liquor.

You can get it from the serving gal at the Inn.

I know once I get going again I won't be able to stop.

Um.. I will level with you.. I'm currently in ch.3 of my second playthrough, but a friend of mine who is also playing the game, keeps asking about the dwarven liquoir. I myself used Makahaman mead that I either found at the inn, or looted from a house - I just can't remember.
My friend said that she couldn't find it on the waitress, so I wonder if she is against looting... *sigh*

Gosh Moondancer, I don't know how you could play this game without looting I guess that would be a big ole challenge if one wanted to try it. :winter:
