Just a off topic , Demigod which is DRM free and one of Stardock exclusives has reported 5 times the amount of pirated users compared to offical users playing there new game. Unfortually piracy is rift on PC and as a user base games companies arn't going to produced games on our beloved PC's unless something is done about it.

I hate all this DRM forced upon gamers, but it will come into force the next generation of consoles, due to games companies hating the second hand games market. As a gamer I play through a game once and thats me finished with it so DRM does'nt bother me as I am alwayc contected to internet. But I like to give my Mum my old adventure games after I have finished with them, and want to continue to do so.

They should make games cheaper, but people will still pirate stuff, Just look at the amount of pepole with dodgy cartridges, and copied films, for there DS's it's a no win situation. I only buy games when they become cheap, as second hand pc games are virtually worthless.

We have all copied/borrowed games films and music in the past, so I am not whiter than white, I work and pay taxes, and I support games companies especially the adventure genre. But games are too short and not worth the expensive costs these days, even though I would love to buy more games, I buy 20 plus games a year. Just look at the lack of space of pc games in your local stores. But the PC hardware market is not slowing down as I work near a major UK internet/retail store ie SCAN as it is always jammed packed. But your average Joe who would'nt dream of buying a game, will happly download free of charge along with the lastest Blockbuster, thus killing the PC games market.

Steam is a step forward in my opnion but it needs cheaper to decrease piracy, but it is that common these days we will never irradicate it, but the PC market will suffer, and the console games will have the same activation limits suffed with pc games with the next generation mark my words, to kill the second hand market, which games companies make no money from.

While I agree that Steam will increase in popularity by game companies to reduce piracy, I doubt it will become dominant, in such a case as every new game that releases requires it.

Games on Steam are automatically patched, kept up to date, you can defragment the game cache directly from the Steam console, and make backups of the games to keep in case a file is deleted or corrputed.

I'm not here to advertise for it, but it sure can't hurt anything. If you're keeping yourself from playing what seems to be a perfectly good game just because Steam is too invasive (or whatever it is), I wouldn't recommend buying games in the genre, because they're just going to be releasing more with this kind of protection.

Like I said before, it won't ever completely dominate the market, but more and more companies WILL move to it. It's inevitable. Unless you want to be sorely disappointed again sometime in the near future, I'd suggest getting acquainted with it.

That's my two cents.

Soooo ... Steam all aside, has anyone got started with this game and what do you think of it?

How do I remove Steam from the start up, it is already causing problems at start up and I am going to keep it, but want to remove it from Start Up.

To remove steam from auto start up.

Firstly run steam
Click on view next to file on top left of screen
Sroll down to Settings then click on it
Now click on the interface tab.
Finally deselct the start steam box when steam starts.

I removed it from startup by running msconfig from RUN in the start menu. Type in "msconfig" and click OK. Just remove the check mark on the startup list and click OK.

You can keep games from updating by starting Steam, R clicking on each game in the steam game list, select properties and then "do not update".

Steam isn't that bad of a program, I just don't understand why they're making it a requirement for some games now. I don't mind using it because it allows me to surf the web and talk to my friends while I'm playing a game, but I sometimes wonder if it hinders my performance. And for Maggie I'll basically sum it up as a program that allows you to buy and download games from Steam, download demos, and communicate with others that play games and so on.

I run MMORPG's on my computer, and even after I've turned steam off, I didn't notice any drastic increase in performance. It probably helps a little bit, but it's not going to make you lose a fight if you keep it on while you're running intense games.

I've installed it, and tried to start playing, but it looks as if I'm going to have to use my XBox 360 controller for this one... -thank heavens I've got a Windows compatible 360 controller. It did seem quite complictaed combat also, I must say...

Not yet, L4L, I've got some Adventure games going, but I promise I'll report back as soon as I've tried it.
