Lemony Snicket comes to mind. Hawka gave me that one a few years ago - another one of my favorites.

Lemony Snicket is fun, not as difficult as Hobbit, Polar Express was good, but I could not do it on keyboard, had to use a controller. Same goes for Ratatouille, that one drove me nuts but I did finish it, lots of jumping and getting stuff, trying not to get caught. Had to use the controller as there are parts where you have to outrun the chef, one of them you had to hold the toggle thingy backwards to run, ouch on my thumb.

I have everything back on the computer, hopefully carbonite won't take forever to reload all my files.

Oh, yeah, Ratatouille. I loved that one too. I did it with the gamepad and the mouse. Gotta load both of those up again!

I'm in Smaug's lair now trying to get to that golden cup under his nose. Gads, he's a light sleeper!

Can Ratatouile be played with keyboard and mouse? Have you played Outcast?

Hawka, did you get your saves loaded?

I think so. I played it with mouse and my gamepad. And, no, I haven't played Outcast.

This is an online backup and the last few times I have had trouble getting everything back, it does eventually but then I have to find the stuff. I think it is time for a external hard drive.

They are getting cheaper every day. I think I paid $120 for my 320 GB Seagate Go about 9 months ago. I see them now for $80. Western Digital has some good ones too.

Can you describe the screen? If it's the one I'm thinking of where there are rock pedestals in the water you just have to go to the other side and follow the gems.

I think that may be the one. I have been to both sides and can't seem to get out.

There are a couple chests if I do some jumping and climbing up ropes. Also, there is that big white block that can be moved.

If that's the right one, it's just before you get to the stone giants.

After you move the stone to go up higher and get more goodies, at the end of the screen, there is a rope to climb up. Then you jump to a ledge and from there you jump to to a tiny little ledge to "wiggle" around by hanging from your hands.

Then you encounter more fun!

Isn't that fun wiggling around the cliff wall? When I stopped playing I was dodging boulders, almost got through but they got me, good and dead. I just hate the way the boulders keep coming, even when I am history, ouch!!

If you hang onto the vines they supposedly can't get you with their boulders.

Ok yall, I got my Cyber Snipa GamePad
now what do I do scared
I've never used a game controller {ex. PS2}.
I will fix a good cajun lunch for whoever volunteers
to come tutor me rotfl
No, seriously, is there an online guide-for-a-blonde-g'ma?
{will need "...twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each
one was..."} oops, got into my Arlo Guthrie mode rotfl
Seriously tho, I will need some pretty easy to understand directions for use.

Katbear, once you get used to your gamepad, you will wonder what you ever did without it!

It's really easy - just plug the USB cable into your computer and you are ready to go.

For a game like The Hobbit, as flutist found out, the best way to play is with the WASD keys for going forwards and backwards, and the mouse to change the camera angle to to left or right. I would load up a game and just start playing. Most of these games allow you to program the keys to suit yourself. With The Hobbit, I didn't change anything - just used the defaults.

I'm sure you will find it awkward at first, but just keep at it. It will take no time at all for it to feel completely natural.

My gamepad is built into my keyboard, on the right hand side. I used the default in the game also.

I thought your game pad was on the left side of the keyboard, Hawka? I remember I almost ordered the Merc Stealth keyboard, but at the time I didn't have a keyboard shelf big enough for it and the mouse.

Katbear, join the rest of us grandmas in this game!

Oh yuck senior moment, of course it is on the left side, I love the Merc Stealth, it fits fine on my pull-out shelf, just overlaps the mouse pad a bit.

I got my Microsoft Sidewinder joystick out and tried it. The mouse is much easier for forward, back, etc. I had a hard time with the joystick. The problem I have with it is there are 4 buttons on one side and three on the top of the stick. Keyboard is still easier.

Oh, yeah, my brain probably wouldn't accept any more learning curves with a joystick! That's why I love this gamepad - it's the keyboard, but with everything placed for gaming, not for typing.

Amazon has 3 Cyber Snipas, two for $20. One of them has free shipping but is used. Tell me what you think.

I went to Amazon and only found one new one for $20. I'd go for it! The ones from the Cyber Snipa website are $46.
