I noticed the news yesterday that it was to be released today, but unfortunately the US is still 2010 I believe. You will have to let us know how you like it. Ana

It is still in the plastic cover and I keep looking at it...LOL I don't know if Play.com ship to the US I used Amazon on this occasion. Another 3 games have arrived as well just to keep me out of trouble over the Christmas Holiday. Nancy Drew, Return to Mysterious Island 2 and Sacred 2 expansion, so a good mix i guess. Anyway DD2 looks very interesting.......well from the outside anyway so must check out the web site. I also think there is going to be a lot of shouting at the screen with this one Ana I am surprised that we got it first. I am really glad I bought an external HD just for games. Will let you know how I get on, unless Mad beats me to it !!!!! Nanjoan

Dave doesn't have it but I did find a UK company called "game.co.uk" that has it and ships to the USA. I've never heard of them but tried them with my fingers crossed hoping all works out.
If all works as planned I should have it in my hot little hands next week.
It cost me 29 pounds which is roughly $49 US.

In which regions has this game been released already? I'm really struggling to get hold of anywhere that says it's been released already... so you say the UK, Oldman? Gee, that place you mentioned charges a fortune to ship to me..
Hmm. I see it's November 20, 2009 for Europe, and NA is January 5, 2010. They could've at least tried to be in time for a US Xmas, don't you think?

Well my copy of Divinity II arrived today. I installed it and went through a few minutes of training and haven't played enough to evaluate it properly. It seems fine. Good graphics. The controls are wasd and use the mouse to turn and left mouse to fight and right mouse to talk to folks.
I have some more of Dragon Age to finish so will probably hold off on getting deep into Divinity until then. Just wanted to see how it installed and played a little.

Sherryah they are both good games but quite different in play style. Both have equally good graphics but Dragon Age is more or less a continuation of the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights type games where you have a party of heroes and you control four party members while solving quests and doing a lot of combat. Divinity II is played with one hero. I think he/she has a companion but I haven't gotten that far in the game. The play style and combat is more like Sacred, or Morrowind etc. As far as dialogue is concerned they both have dialogue trees and the NPC's respond with voices but not the hero. You can read more about Divinity II here and here. The original game, Divine Divinity, was one of the most popular RPG's on this particular board. I personally doubt that this one will live up to the status of the original and the reviews I've read don't rate it as high.

Hey Oldman you got your game...yaayy..i have loaded mine on the computer and had a look around as it were, may change my 'hero' appearance but we shall see. Haven't figured out how to slow him down yet but I am sure I will get there eventually. Graphics look great. Whew i think I have 5 games loaded atm on my 'gaming' HD so plenty of choice. Will be interested to know how you get on. Nanjoan

Well let me say that I am very disappointed in this game so far. Haven't done very much and I'm just feeling my way around but my main disappointment is that, unlike Divine Divinity, there are no quest markers on the map to show you where to go. So you have to feel your way around and have a good memory or take good notes which I am not good at. Consequently I keep hunting for where to go on a quest and then where to return to once I've completed the quest. I think there is a way to mark your map so in the future I'll try to learn that so that I at least know where to come back to when and if I complete a side quest.
The controls seem a little clunky to me. When clicking on dialogue options, the mouse is slow to react. I will eventually finish this game because I wanted it to be a true sequel to Divine Divinity but it didn't live up to my expectations by a long shot.
If you're looking for another Divine Divinity in this game you're in for a big disappointment.

I'm not that far into it yet. I've done about 3 or 4 side quests and have about the same yet to do in the first area of the game. I'm ready to progress to the next area of the main quest but am putting that off until I finish (or give up on) the side quests.
However the complaints I have will not improve over the course of the game. There will be no quest markers on the map. I've read some posts online complaining of the same thing.
A lot of gamers mention the turning into a dragon bit but it doesn't seem to excite too many. It might be cool to turn into a dragon and fly around the countryside but that definitely does not offset the cons, at least for me.

Well the comments make interesting reading. As I haven't progressed very far yet, still feeling my way around as it were, but i find that the 'hero' seems to move a little too fast but maybe i will be able to control that later. Apart from that I am certainly going to give it a good work through, not giving up yet and will certainly look around the forums to see whats happening. There again after all the hype I may stick to Sacred 2 and it's expansion pack. We shall see but love the graphics. Will keep watching for the comments anyway. Nanjoan

awww, how sad. I was really looking forward to a true Divine Divinity 2 that would make me feel as good as the first one did. I will hold off purchasing for now. Ana
