Did you actually install it in XP compatibility or just try to play it in XP compatibility?

Funnily enough, I have this game currently installed. I have XP with SP2, but had to set the game to Windows 98 compatibility for it to run without any glitches. Did you try that?

I was able to play the game on my Windows 7 computer in XP SP2 compatibility, but Rushes has a good suggestion, luckeeme. Try Windows 98 or even Windows 95. Hopefully Jenny100 or InlandAZ will have some suggestions for you. I wonder about the integrated Intel GMA.

It could be a multi-processor/hyperthreading problem because Dracula Resurrection is on that list. Using Windows 95 or 98 compatibility mode sometimes clears that up, but if it doesn't, you could try one of the other possible solutions on the ***this page*** (which really should be called "Legacy Games, Multi-processors and Hyperthreading" instead of just "Legacy Games and Hyperthreading" because dual or multi-processors will have the same problems even if there is no hyperthreading).

Even after I tried to install it with XP SP2 settings, still nothing but freezing up until I hit the spacebar each time. Please help... What exactly happens after you hit the space bar?

What I'm wondering is what you are typing in for the install file. I reinstalled the game tonight by doing this.
I popped the CD in and waited for the error message to come up. Then I navigated to the files on the CD and right clicked on the Install file. I selected the recommended compatibility which was XP SP2. The next screen told me to Start the game which I did from that screen. I played for about 1/2 hour and exited the game. It then asked me if I wanted to save those settings and I selected Yes. The next time I went to play the game, it worked just as before.

Check the OEM's web site for driver updates, or run the Intel update utility to see if a more current version exists. Intel® Driver Update Utility Short of that, the game may be having issues with your on-board graphics processor (many do, particularly Intel IGP's).

I don't think the widescreen monitor is helping either. Either the video card or the monitor has to be able to cope with a game that isn't widescreen. I think Dracula is 640x480. It might help to install the specific monitor drivers for your monitor. You might get more capability out of it.

The game doesn't have much in the area of video requirements, but there are some games that just don't like that Intel GMA integrated graphic you have. My game is also playing on a 22" widescreen. It automatically goes to 640 x 480 and then reverts back to the native resolution when I close out the game.
