Hi All

I have just load the game to play once more, I last played it through Xp, I have have W7 pro 32 bit installed. The game loads okay with no problems but after the opening sequence after Dr Watson leaves and I have control of Sherlock the movements are stuttery and when I meet anyone ie the policeman after leaving the house there is no voice sound only background sound, is there a patch for this, I have looked and cant find one, only the Tages Drivers which have downloaded and installed.

I don't know if this is the same for 32-bit Windows 7, but for 64-bit we had to download an update for Tages drivers. Was this what was downloaded?

Tages Drivers for Windows 7

Usually games would not load or play if the Tages copy protection drivers needed to be updated.

When I initially installed the game it automatically downloaded Tages drives,this is when I noticed the stuttering and no voice sound, I did a search for up to date Tages Drives but it was the same one that auto downloaded, yes it said it was Windows 7 32bit/Vista

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? If that doesn't help, you could try uninstalling it, changing the installer to Windows XP or 2000 compatibility mode, and reinstalling it.

Yes I have tried the compatibility mode but it did not make any difference, you mention change the installer to Xp or 2000 mode how do I do that, is it by selecting properties in the setup file on the disc?

Navigate to Setup on the disk, right click and then Troubleshoot Compatibility - just like with the game play icon.

Try setup first - it allows you to start the game to see if it works. If it works, then you can save the settings to play from the gameplay icon. At least that's the way it's worked for me for several games.

Tried it and after the troubleshoot search and install clicked next but the game would not run got an error message, I think I am going to have to bite the bullet on this one and put it back on the shelf, many thanks for all your help

The error message is after I click next, the splash screen says detection addtional error then displays Incompatibility Application

Instead of clicking Next, you should have clicked on Start the Program. When I do that with Dracula The Last Sanctuary, the game plays perfectly. When I exit, I save the settings and the game then plays in XP Compatibility. If I don't click on Start the Program, but click on Next, I get the same incompatible program error.

Not sure if this patch will work for you but you could give it a try:

Also try right clicking the setup file and selecting Run as Administrator.

Now tried all 3 options, still the same result, looks like one of those games that is not going to play right on my PC, Looks like I am chasing a lost cause, many thanks Guys back on to the shelf with this on

Well, you can't say you didn't try!

I just had exactly the same problem as SAFC described here, when trying to play this game again on Win7. I too tried all suggestions on this thread. The only thing that worked for me -- hooray! -- was installing the v1.3 multi-language patch, different to the one previously suggested.

I also chose to run the game as Administrator.

Holmes is now walking around smoothly without stuttering movement.
