I've been playing this for some time now. It's another long game. Progression is fairly straight forward. However, I have come across a puzzle that I cannot solve: It is the faction quest called The Purloined Letters. It takes place in a secret area in Addessa and I can't leave unless I solve the puzzle. There is a chest in the centre of a room that I must open by lighting 8 brazieres around it. When I light one braziere some others go on and some go off. I haven't found the correct sequence to light them. Please help. If I don't solve this I will never see the light of day again. hardwall

Hi ya Rowan, I found

A video walkthrough of that quest Here

There is another one on youtube here

This
Quote:
Keystone Braizer Puzzle:
Once inside this area, head to the west as soon as you can. This puts you in the Keystone Brazier Room. This is a devious little puzzle to solve: You need to choose a Keystone Brazier to start from and then move in a circle going either clockwise or counter-clockwise. From there, move from Keystone Brazier to Brazier and light each one in turn. Move slowly as you can interact with every Keystone Bazier but the game sometimes takes a moment to realize what you are doing. When you complete the circle you will get a message telling you the ward around the chest has been dispelled. Now go to the chest and collect the Vault Key inside. Now head to the west, through the door, using the Vault Key.
is from this Website.

Let me know if these help or not. luck

I've found this from the Amalur wiki:

http://amalur.wikia.com/wiki/The_Purloined_Letters

Don't know if this helps or not think

I've done a little further digging and I found this video walkthrough on IGN's site:

http://www.ign.com/wikis/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning/The_Purloined_Letters

I assume think this is where you are right now? In the game, I mean?

Go to around the 21.30-21.45 minute mark to see what I think is where you are in the game think

Maybe this will help, too:

Quote:
Once you grab the Missives of Sable, an alert will sound anyway - be prepared to sneak/fight your way back out (the exit is the lever-operated hidden wall at the northern-most area of the map). Leave by ladder to the Forum and go to the Hospitalis Quarters to meet Grim.

I also found this on on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSeTMchmaMw

Please go the 11:30-11:45 minute mark to watch this solution.

As I see it, the trick is to light one brazier, then light not the second one, but the third, or maybe the fourth? one (from the first one, you've lighted). But all should be clear when you watch the video, I find smile

Hope this helps smile

Those the kind of puzzles I always skip in casual games. Hate them.

Thank you, all, for the info. I had trouble with the you tube videos but the the printed ones helped.

Is anyone else playing this game?

No, unfortunately not. From the youtube videos, it looks like a really fun game - sort of a mix between Skyrim and Dragon Age 2 with some return to old school rpgs puzzles.

Missed your thread Rowan and did my opinions on my original thread on this game but you can find them there.
