amaryhs demo...cant stop windmmill

Got in the hut,have entered the 4-digit number (coinciding with the development's year,or at least I THINK I was supposed to do that...sorry;I dont know how to conceal in a spoiler so let me just say 2004 was the #,correct?)...but I pull the lever. Nothing happens. Cant stop the mechanism from being jammed when I turn the wheel. What am I missing here...I see no other clues online about this. THanks

Thanks,Chief. I was able to get inside the hut,but not operate anything. I saw that thread,entered what I THOUGHT was the number called for (2004,although his "spoiler" is somewhat vague)...nothing past that; I'm stuck.
ANy other spoilers??

Do you see the chain?

When you get the windmill going, enter the proper year.

Thanks Chief. Tried getting the windmill going but every time I turn the wheel,the gears send the coil=-thing back down after grinding against it.

robedits, I just replayed the game.

When you enter the hut, go to the chain (with a round handle) at the left back corner and pull it to stop the windmill. Then turn the wheel 3x to get the gear up. Pull the chain again and the windmill will work again.

Maybe you should save the game after entering the hut to get a fresh start with the chain and wheel.

Enter the date and pull the lever. You will see the place you can go to.
