Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father

I am playing this updated version on my tablet. Years ago I played the original one on my PC but don't remember a whole lot about it except that I liked it. I am following MaGtRo's walkthrough. I do have a problem. I am in the police station talking to Mosley. I have had my picture taken with Frank and Mosley and taken the file from Frank's desk and copied it. Unfortunately, I didn't get the file put back and now I can't do it. Frank is back at her desk and I can't re-do the scene. I remember from playing Sierra Games in the past that, if you missed something and got all the way to the end, you either died or couldn't finish the game because something wasn't picked up etc. Is that the case here? Does anyone remember if I will get another opportunity to return the file later or should I try to start that part over?

If I remember correctly, I also missed returning the file first time.
I think I asked to have another picture taken and replayed it.
If that doesn't work - maybe best to replay. Keep us posted.

That's what I ended up doing, too, the first time I ever played the game

I tried returning the file but kept getting a message that "this won't work" so I tried taking more picturess. I could do that then but I must have used up my chances because now the game won't allow me to take anymore pictures. What I didn't realize is that I was trying to return what I thought was the file folder but it was in fact something else. It is kind of small on my tablet and, when I hover over inventory items, they don't say what they are I tried again and got a message that "I had already taken pictures and it is too late to return the file because Frank is sitting at her desk." I must be out of luck. I was hoping this was not the case and thought that I might have a chance to return it later. But this being a Sierra game, it probably means that I will have to try and backtrack.

That would get Mosely away from his desk but I don't know if it would also allow you to return the file.

Will you replay from a previous save, then ??

Mad, It plays a little differently on my tablet so hopefully I will be able to do that. The bad thing about that is the game has a lot of conversation that has to be gone through and I hate to have to do all of it again.

Well I hope you manage to "play on".
It's such a great game and is still my favourite of favourites even after all these years
