Beta testers for The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge - 09/22/08 12:28 PM

Hello all,

Haven't posted in these forums for ages. I've been quite busy working on a new freeware game, a rather odd and hopefully funny (if you have a very peculiar sense of humour) game whose endless title is in the subject line of this post.

And now I could really use some beta testers. I'll just quote myself from my site to explain:

Desert Bridge is almost complete.

The game is fully playable, all the graphics are there, and almost all of the cosmetic details too. Right now we’re waiting for Helen to finish the music, and then… well, then you get to explore the House at Desert Bridge.

Now, if there are any brave adventurers out there who would like to get an early look, and help me out with the testing process, that would be most delightful. I’d love to hear from people with as wide a variety of systems as possible, as long as they’re capable of playing Windows games. (That would include people running Linux using a Windows emulator! I hate it that my games only run on Windows.) I’m also very interested in older versions of Windows (95/98) and the dreaded Vista (not much of a loss if it doesn’t run there, but still).

Obviously there’s no payment involved, but your name will be put into the game and readme, so at least there’s credit.

Contact me at me@jonas-kyratzes.net, using BETA TESTER as a subject so that I know you’re not trying to sell me viagra to forget about world crisis and receive replica gold eCard from Nigerian free meds of unbelievable quality.

Hi all,

First of all, thanks for your replies and messages. I will respond as quickly as possible.

Secondly, I don't know what's wrong with the email. I got several emails about beta testing, so apparently it worked for some people. (In case I was unclear, the email is "me@jonas-kyratzes.net". Just trying to avoid spambots.)

Sadly I have no time to test unless I lose my job tomorrow but I DO have Vista & would like to play the game, please don't ignore your Vista players ...

If it were my choice, my games would run on every platform there is. I'll do my best to make the game work for Vista players, but Microsoft isn't making it easy. Still, I am hopeful.

Hi smile

Is anyone in touch with Jonas about his game ??

I offered to join in the Beta Testing and downloaded the files from the link he provided but couldn't get the game to even launch.
So I sent him a PM asking for advice - and - a request for a working email address as I didn't want to keep using Gameboomer space to make contact with him.

Haven't heard anything back woozy

Cheers.

I have joined the beta test, and have had replies to my emails to him. I think he's just very busy.

Hi Jenny and Pollo ....

Thanks.

I've just left a message via his beta test feedback page.

But if he doesn't reply I can't do any beta testing because the options on the opening menu of the game don't work duh

Cheers.

Hi Sherryah smile

I have replied to your PM, thanks.

I already have the info you sent me - but as I said in my post, I can't use it because the opening menu of the game doen't allow me to interact.

Cheers.
