Green Graphics of Name the Game

The time has come to start a new thread for our favorite adventure guessing game. (If you wish to see the last page of the previous Name the Game thread, click here.)

These are the rules:

One person (hereinafter known as "It") posts a clue to an adventure game. The clue can be simple or difficult or creative or dastardly or even poetic. Clues can be information about characters or events or puzzles or more (though we do try to stay away from outright puzzle spoilers).

When thinking up clues, a good place to look for possible ideas is the GameBoomers collection of adventure walkthroughs (plenty of inspiration there). You can also look up adventure game titles and information in the PAGODA Game Database for more ideas.

Everyone who wishes to participate, posts the name of the game that best matches the clue. If no one has guessed after a few attempts, "It" gives another clue. The person who guesses correctly then becomes "It" and posts a clue for a different game, and so on.

Sometimes people who think they've guessed the game but don't wish to name it will also post a clue -- please do this only if "It," along with the first clue, posts "Extra Clues are Welcome (ECAW)." Of course, keep in mind that sometimes the "Extra Clues" may be "red herrings."

So Mad's clues above would indicate a game in which there is a farmhouse, with a well and a water pump, a way to come face-to-face with the devil, a bell search in a village and the use of a shrinking spell.

I'm afraid that I don't recognize this game, despite these good clues, though it sounds a bit Kings Questish to me. Anyone else?

I don't recognize it either, but Google (is that allowed?) clearly suggests The legend of crystal valley.

Ahhhhh I would be recognizing the game, but only because I wrote a review of it. And I liked it!

Google is allowed in extremis. There's an even more efficient search method when thoroughly stuck, but I'm not revealing my secret techniques.

Well done shany - and a hamlet has no churches (hence godless).
To explain my other obscure clues, ham was noah's son and rent is to let, so rearanged you get hamlet. And a quiet ruminant was a silent lamb, made by Jonathon Demme - cut of his head and you get Emme, the developer of Hamlet.

Well I cheated and went searching...but didn't come up with anything definate. I did however learn a great deal about the history of gaming and especially adventure. It was quite interesting. No, I don't think she should speak ill if she can avoid it, but unfortunately that doesn't help me with the name!

Clue #2 -- one word in this quotation refers to something else in the plot of this game:

"When he crosses the slow moving clouds
And sails upon the heart of the wind."

I haven't played it, but it sounds like "Heaven" in the words that I have heard others talk of when talking of the game.

Not Heaven, sorry! No husbands in it, for instance.

Clue #3 -- one word in this quotation refers to something that is part of the gameworld.

"No,'t is not so deep as a well, nor so wide as a church-door; but 't is enough."

Clue # 4 -- one word in this quotation refers to something that is used early in the game.

"Will you pluck your sword out of his pitcher
by the ears?"

I see the quotation innovation is too obscure. I've gone back and put the clues within the quotations into boldface.

Yes, you got it, Shany. I guess the quotations idea is too, err, out there.

The quotations are from Romeo and Juliet. Originally I was going to quote something about the balcony (because De Singe stands on his balcony) but was surprised that "balcony" is never actually mentioned in the text of Romeo and Juliet.

So much for innovation.

I thought that "glove upon the hand" sounded like Romeo, but I couldn't think of a game that had him in it. So much for that clue.

I knew the first quote sounded familiar but couldn't place it. The last quote I did recognize.
And I studied Romeo and Juliet this year! Talk about a short memory.

Nope, I haven't played So Blonde so the drunken sailor is just a coincidence. Not even a character in this game. That's almose another clue so I will wait a couple of hours to see if there are more guesses before I give another more official clue.

Okay, here is another clue:

"Monkey see, monkey do," is an old saying and applies very well in this game as one has to get a monkey in a cage in a zoo to mimic your actions so that it will throw something out of the cage that you need to use elsewhere to get another animal to do something.

It is one of the Art of Murder games Becky! - I was going to post another clue yesterday but my PC decided to have a day off! (I've yet to get the fans replaced/fixed so it's a bit temperamental)
