Good morning everyboomie. welcome

Someone tell me this is Sunday, and I missed a day somewhere. crazy

Somewhere is where the weekend went I guess. headscratch

When the sun finally came out, it turned out to be an awesome day.

I exercised and then took the dogs to the park in town for a long time. Then I got some groceries, and came back home, and worked in the yard for several hours on the garden.

Then I shaved my head, got my shower, ate my supper, and here I am. grin

That's all I got done. Tomorrow I'll do more. Not sure what yet. happydance

Maybe sleep. sleep

Have a happy day everyone.

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 04:58 PM

G'morning everybody! yay

I hope everyone's day is going great so far. yes

It's been 'kinda' rainy here this morning, although not much has fallen.

I was going to go out to the sod farm this morning, but....it's been cold, and rainy, and my neighbors are again supposed to be somewhere else, so I'll plan on going tomorrow when it's warmer.

In the mean time, the sun should be out soon. bravo

I figured out how to get Baby to take her medicine when she won't eat cheese, or turkey slices. I get some water in my mouth, then I put the pill in her mouth, and squirt the water in after that, and close her mouth, and she swallows it. joy

Now I've gotta get her to eat that big flea and tick pill somehow. rolleyes

I read last night that there are more and more pathogens/viruses being borne by ticks, so I have to be sure I have my tick protection as well. smirk

Have a super day everyone. rah

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 05:38 PM

Joe, we get Pill Pockets for Seagan. She does decently well with those. If the pill is really big you can break it up as long as you get all the parts into Baby. luck

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 06:06 PM

I'll have to give them a try L4L, thanks for the tip. praise

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 06:18 PM

They are squishy so we often just pinch off a bit to wrap around a smaller pill. Give Baby a couple of small tastes without any pill in it, then wrap it around the pill, and then finish with a small taste without pill. Keeps them from associating that smell with pills. I hope it helps you.

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 06:21 PM

Where do you get yours from? smile

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 06:23 PM

My dogs hate the pill pockets. I have to shove in a cheese cube or wrap in nitrate free turkey slice. I always need to let them see the next cheese or slice so they hurry up and swallow or they will find out the pill is hidden.
Posted By: gymcandy1

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 06:29 PM

Sometimes the cheese or turkey works Ana, but often it doesn't, and I end up having to force it down her. At least I've discovered I can put it back in her throat, and squirt some water in her mouth, and she'll swallow a capsule.
Posted By: BrownEyedTigre

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 07:05 PM

Be careful putting the pills in the back of the throat because they can aspirate them in their lungs. I find placing the near the back, holding their muzzle shut and blowing in their face makes them swallow. Shadow is particularly stubborn. Hope you don't have too many days left!

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 08:47 PM

I remember hiding the pills in cheese cubes in my dogs bowl. When I came back the bowl was totally empty except for two pills. lol

Re: Magnificent Monday - 03/13/17 10:05 PM

Welcome home, Space wave

Keoki will eat all his pills by just throwing them in with his food, but Skywalker on the other hand, will lick all the good stuff off the pill and then spit it back out.
