Lost Desktop - 01/18/17 10:55 PM

I received a message that Apple had stopped working and now I have lost my desktop. Does anyone have any thoughts? My computer has acted different ever since I lost my Firefox browser. I have been getting messages regarding my memory being low and crashes. I would appreciate any help. I clicked on desktop icon in bottom tray and the desktop came back. I still need advice regarding my memory problem though. There is something not right and I do not know how to find it.

"Apple" has stopped working?
Is this on a Mac?

How much free space is left on your hard drive?

It sounds like either a hard drive problem or a virus.

If you have a Mac, I've read that they may start acting wonky if they need a new PRAM battery on the motherboard. That advice may only apply to older Macs though.

If this is a Windows computer, run chkdsk on it and see if it has errors.

Jenny100, I have Windows 10 and do not know why I would get an Apple message. I have never had one before. I uninstalled several games from my computer and ran disc clean up. My computer seems to be working fine now. I have not received any more messages since doing this. Thank you for your help.

Apple has stopped working? This is very strange indeed. Can we assume you have run a scan with your anti-virus software and Malwarebytes if you have it?

I suppose it could be a problem with iTunes -- if that's installed.

iTunes was the only reference to anything Apple associated with an error message that included "apple."

Jenny100 and Draclvr, There was not associated with Apple, it just said Apple has stopped working and my desktop went down. I have ran Malwarebytes several times and it show no problems. I do not know if iTunes is installed on my computer. My computer appears to be working fine now. I will keep my fingers crossed.

How about your anti-virus software? I would run a scan with that too.

If it said "apple" had stopped worked, there had to be SOMETHING associated with apple. Who knows... as long as it's working! But I would still run a scan with your anti-virus software too just to be sure.

Draclvr, I have ran my anti-virus and nothing shows to be wrong. I have had problems since I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Now I get a message like this-Accessibility not available during multi-process support, I have no idea what this means. My computer seems to be working fine except for these annoying messages. I have received numerous messages, I will start writing them all down and post them. Very Stranger Behavior!!

If by losing your desktop you see the wallpaper, but taskbar or icons it is probably just and explorer crash. If it does not automatically restart it can be restarted by bringing up the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and going to File>New Task (Run...) and typing explorer>Enter.

Apple may simply refer to any Apple product installed on your PC (QuickTime, Acrobat, iTunes, etc.) or one of the extra programs that those will also install such as the Apple update checker. You can try to update any such products you have installed.
