Is there a problem with the game? I just got it, and when it plays, it's fine. Thing is, it doesn't always play. It won't launch, or, it tries to launch but goes to black screen and stays there. The little I've been able to play, I like but....Help?

I really enjoy mornings. I just wish they came later in the day.

Hi bkrytr, I'll scoot you across to Glitches for advice, they'll be able to help you better. Perhaps you could post your computer specs? luck

I had a few issues with the game as well - if you can get it to start to the options menu, try lowering shadow Quality to Avgerage.

You could try reducing the Display settings in the Options menu (see p. 6 of the manual). Depending on your graphics card, it might need newer drivers.

But since the game sometimes starts and plays OK and sometimes doesn't, my guess is the problem has to do with a combination of the copy "protection" and a slightly marginal game disc -- perfectly fine for reading the game data, but not good enough to pass the disc check reliably. It could also be that your DVD drive is getting old and having more difficulty with passing copy "protection" checks.

If it gets to the point where the game won't start at all, you could try using a NoCD.
Do a Google search for:
Still Life 2 NoCD

and follow the instructions on the webpage. NoCD's are usually distributed as rar files. You'll need WinRAR or 7-zip or another unzipping program to extract a rar file. Be sure to scan the NoCD for viruses after unzipping (unrarring?) it. Usually NoCD files are OK, but it doesn't hurt to be careful.
