We are thrilled to announce the release of 'Gabriel Knight: The Legacy of the Schattenjäger', the ultimate analysis of the trilogy that redefined adult storytelling in video games.

Check out the book here.

Quote
More than just a development chronicle, this work is a deep journey into the heart of Sierra On-Line and the mind of Jane Jensen—the systems engineer turned writer who dared to mix rigorous historical research with supernatural horror.

Inside this book, you will discover:
• The Hidden History: How the Schattenjäger concept was born and Jensen's fight to sell an "adult thriller" in an era dominated by cartoons.
• The Art of the "Talkie" & FMV: An analysis of the tech revolution, from Hollywood voice casting (Tim Curry, Mark Hamill) to the ambitious live-action production of The Beast Within.
• Myth vs. Reality: Unraveling the "Dark Edutainment." How much truth lies in New Orleans Voodoo, Bavarian Lycanthropy, and the Templar mysteries of Rennes-le-Château?
• Character Psychology: A dissection of the complex dynamic between Gabriel and Grace, the unresolved sexual tension, and the weight of destiny.
• The Sonic Soul: The crucial role of Robert Holmes’ music in crafting the saga's unique atmosphere.

Happy Reading!

This looks absolutely fascinating. I beta-tested Jane's game "Gray Matter." She and I communicated regularly for several weeks. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun.
