I'm playing this right now. It's not groundbreaking, but very well done for the genre it is in. It should satisfy fans of the genre and the series, if they haven't got tired of all the game design conventions of this series yet. But I imagine some would feel that the "formula" of the series has become all too familiar. I've played RE1 to 5, and I'm still enjoying the latest game; so apparently I'm not tired of it yet. The notable features are (1) you play two characters, (2) you can switch between 1st- and 3rd-person view for both characters at any time, and (3) the ink ribbon is back in the highest difficulty.

I've just finished this. The two characters occupy somewhat equal playtime, although at the beginning you may think one has much more playtime than the other. Ink ribbons can be crafted, so that makes it easier to play at the higher difficulty. Leon is much older (40s, I think) than in previous games, but still quite youthful. As in earlier games, he must have a one-liner after everything he does. Some of his lines are quite suggestive. After he descends deep underground, he deadpans, "This is one big deep hole." And a woman at the other end replies, "Perfect place to hide something." According to Capcom, a group of female developers were tasked to make Leon a "hot uncle" (their words).

A game with a 'Hot uncle." eh?

I haven't played these games, although I have started two of them. They are on my "to play" list since I have three of them.
