First released in 1996, the version I played wasn’t the one in the box
but an enhanced version released in 2019. Near as I could determine,
the game is the same save for the graphics, which have been smoothed
and upscaled to produce a sharper, more defined appearance.
Toggle the graphics in the menu to see the difference.

Plus of course it will run without furious fiddling on modern machines.

You play in the third person as Fenimore Fillmore, a cowboy roaming
the ‘old west’ during the Franco-Mexican wars. A chance encounter
and subsequent gunfight puts him on the trail of three golden skulls said
to hold the secret to a legendary Toltec treasure.

And thank you too, Drac. smile

Thanks flotsam (and Drac)!

I'm surprised that you haven't played this game, Marian. I am under the impression you like the "wild west" type games. I, too, have the game but from Steam. I actually have it installed on my computer but just looking at the old timey interface turns me off. Maybe some day.

Yes, it is surprising that I haven't played any of the Fenimore Fillmore games yet, but I have not. I need to get on it. smile

I did fire up Dust: A Tale of the Wired West the other day. Maybe someday GOG will get that one! One of my all-time favorites.
