I checked the other posts for this topic and sort of found half the answer I was looking for.
I am in the room with the two panels, with a 1 on the left panel and a 3 button panel. I don't have the correct numbers to input. I know I have to go back in the game to check them, but in one of the other posts it says if you pull the levers again it all changes. It also said not to pull them again. How am I supposed to get these numbers?

To get the numbers, you have to go back to the area just outside the west exit from the walkway tower. There are 3 stands there.

One of the stand has wedge patterns appearing when the lever is pulled down.
Note the pair of wedges seen and as to where it appeared - bottom, middle or top of the panel.
Now you have to compare those wedges to the ones that you saw in building 1 at the power plant area and get the corresponding number needed.

Building 1 at the power plant area is the one that has a window with lights above it. When you press one light a pair of wedge is seen on a panel by the door of that building. Press 2 lights another set of wedges and so on and so forth....
That is where you get the corresponding numbers that will match the wedges seen in this panel.

Good luck!

I've lost my compass! Stuck again trying to find my way back to get the pictures of the wedges. I've gotten back to the panel with the lights above the window, but when I press the buttons, nada. No wedges are seen. I really want to continue, but maybe it's not in the cards for me to finish this neat game.

did you turn on the lights/power? and did you shut the door? i think these are the only two things i remember that could result in this problem.

Thanks for the reply wysewoman. I'm actually going back in the game. I didn't make a note of the wedge patterns the first time around.

yeah, that took me a long, LONG time to put together--oh, i get it, i'm learning to count! then I felt all, "DOH!" I think i liked the hanging man guy in the schoolroom on Riven better, tho' it was pretty macabre.

Just in case you want a short cut - there are the pictures of the wedges on the walkthrough. wave

Hi MaG - I know there is a picture, but I don't remember the correct numbers to input into the 3 button panel. I've tried to find the 3 stands outside the west exit, but I keep getting lost.

As soon as you get out of the top west exir - go forward and then left by the railing. wave

Be sure that as soon as you noted the wedges on the stand - the bottom wedge is the top number to place at radar valley panel. Then do not touch the lever anymore because you just programmed the radar valley panel just then.

I'm starting to feel like an idiot. I can get to the window with the buttons with the lights, but I don't have a clue on how to get to the top west exit. Am I near it?

It might be best that after you get the number codes for the wedges - to go back to a saved game and backtrack from radar valley to get to the 3 stands.

Exit radar valley, go forward to bottom west exit of the walkway building.
Climb the steps and exit top west at the walkway building.
Go forward and turn left at railing. wave

I am ready to give up on this one. I have walked all over this maze of a game for hours
without getting back to where I need to be to get the wedge numbers. I tried using some game saves, but that screwed me up even further. Frustration has finally set in. I think I have met my match.

Dreamer--
I encourage you not to give up although it's confusing! I thought the game was totally worth it.

here's a really good map of the place, in case that helps:

good luck!

Thank you thank you wysewomon. The map is great. I wish I had it when I started the game. Following the map I was able to get what I needed.
