A cousin of mine who was a casualty surgeon in Manhattan tells me that he and his colleagues had a one-word nickname for bikers: Donors. Rather chilling. ~Stephen Fry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How do you get a kleenex to Dance? Put a little boogie in it! Clean one liner; Q. Why was the baby pen crying? A. Because his mum had been working on a long run-on sentence. Clean knock knock: Knock Knock. Whos there? Lettuce. Lettuce who? Lettuce in .. its your buddies tomato & cucumber ~~~~~~~~~~~~ A man walked into a diner, and he sits down. The waitress comes up to him and says the special for today is Split Pea Soup. And boy does the man love split pea soup. So he orders a bowl. The waitress says "Sorry sir, but I just served our last bowl to that guy over there." The other man says "Here, you can have it, I don't need it." The first man accepts it and thanks the other man. So the man starts digging into the soup and its the best soup he's ever had. After a little bit, he sees a mouse in his soup and throws up. The other man says "Yeah, I got that far too when I threw up." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The blonde saw a sign that said YMCA and she said: "Look they spelt MACY's wrong!!!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A pastor got pulled over for speeding and the pastor said "Blessed are the merciful" ... and the cop said "Go and sin no more"! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A blonde was sitting beside a lawyer on a airplane and the lawyer kept nudging the blonde to play an intelligence game. The lawyer proposed.. I'll give you fifty dollars for every question you ask me that I can't answer. But if I ask you one question you can't answer then you only have to give me five dollars, good deal! She said.. OKAY THEN!!! He said I'll ask the first question... What's the distance from the farthest star away from the sun to the sun?.. She didn't even try she sighed and gave him five dollars. Then she thought for a moment and asked her question "What is the only thing that can go up a hill with 3 legs and come back on 4.. He sighed real big and gave her 50 dollars.. then he said... what was the answer to that question.. Blonde just sighed and gave him five dollars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A rope walks into a bar. The bartender says "We don't serve ropes here" so the rope leaves. Loops himself up, and rubs himself against a brick wall. He then walks back in the bar. The bartender says "I told you we don't serve ropes". The rope says "I'm not a rope", You're not? Nope he responds, "I'm a frayed knot" A mushroom walks in to a bar and waves down a waiter and says can I have a table. The waiter says I'm sorry we don't serve your kind here. The mushroom respond but I'm a fun gi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So this little girl comes home right? And she goes to daddy and says "I'm never going to school again." So the dad replys "why??" She exclaims "because my teacher said 5+5=10, 6+4=10, 7+3=10 ,8+2=10, and that 9+1=10!" He again says "and your point is???" She screams "SO SHE NEEDS TO MAKE UP HER MIND!!!" andrea c ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One day a man and a giraffe walk into a bar, the man stays all afternoon and gets terribly drunk. The giraffe has fallen a sleep on the floor. As the man starts to walk out, the bartender says "Hey man, you gonna leave that layin' there?". The man replies "That's not a lion! that's a giraffe!!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good morning everyboomie. Welcome to the day that comes before the next one. It's almost midnight on this side of the continent, and we have a bit of stormy weather headed this way. Also I haven't got my shower yet, so before I lose my internet, I've gotta cut it short again, and post this thing and get my shower and get to bed. It's been a long day. OH!! If you haven't seen the last Hobbit movie, I recommend you do see it. Great movie! Had me bawling like a blithering big baby at the end. Have a great day everyone. joe

Oh gosh one daughter and family in Tulsa and another daughter and family in Sand Springs and neither one answers her phone. Anybody here in that area -best wishes to you, take care of yourselves. And that area is called tornado alley. Another daughter in Dallas and I are most concerned. Dallas daughter is chopping up fresh catnip for her cats -5 or 6, I forgot. She has a special short blade German knife just for that job. Lucky cats.
Cold cold again and had to turn on the furnace. Unheard of this time of year.
Gonna hover around the phone today

Sunny day. Going to be another heat wave so they say. Up in the 80's along the coast (me) and hotter inland. Wheeeee. We are having Summer just as Spring starts.
Interesting stuff with cars around here. The 'tow yard' which has been there for years is playing their games again. It all started out with lots of noisy tow trucks a few years back, coming and going around the corner, parking in front of my house and my neighbor's houses at all hours of the day and night. We discovered that a landlord was renting out the EMPTY lot behind a tiny rental house to a towing /storage company. They had that little area crammed with cars, boats, trailers, etc. And they went in and out, exchanging one for another all the time.
So I complained to the City and they sent a nice letter (sent me a copy too) to the owner, that they needed to move all the stuff out of there since it's a residential area, not a commercial. So they did. Nice and clean lot, no more noise, no trucks, no cars all over. Well, that lasted about 2 months and then slowly, under cover of darkness and VERY quietly, they brought all the stuff back. I didn't complain this time because it was very quiet, they stopped parking 'overflow' cars in front of our houses and it was OK.
BUT in the past 6 months, many many cars have been parked on the street all over the place and just left there. Dusty, some without plates, nobody ever going near them. But here's the interesting part, the red SUV which has been parked around the corner since before Christmas is now directly across the street from my house! They moved it last night well after dark. MY neighbor and I were keeping watch on it to see when someone would move it. I think we both missed it. It will probably stay right across for another 6 months till someone else complains. 3 day limit on street parking unless you live there and the car comes and goes every day.
The tow yard guys are notorious for SWITCHING the paperwork and plates on cars and driving them. We watched them do it several times. They do some body work there and minor body repairs. Then eventually one or more cars will be taken out never to return. My neighbor thinks it's a chop shop. I think it's just some business making money from storing large vehicles (probably a lot of military guy's stuff). I wonder if they know their cars are being left ON the street and not locked up like they should be?
So now we watch the red SUV for any signs of movement. I have a suspicion that it got moved because someone complained about a blue old truck up the same block. Parking enforcement probably tagged this one too as it was noticeably abandoned. More to watch, more to see. Hooray.
Off to the monthly lunch with my teacher friends. Going to someplace called 'Big Kahuna's' Dunno what we are in for.
WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Good morning everybody. We had storms last night, but not too severe, and everything is Okie Dokie here. My phone is reading 'emergency only' all morning though. Maybe some of the communication towers were damaged or just plain blown over. Baby sure didn't like the storms a bit. Poor thing. I had to cradle her on my stomach as I lay in bed trying to go to sleep. It's very cool this morning. It may be the last gasp of cool temperatures this year, until Fall that is. I go to work at 1:00 today, and I am off tomorrow. I hope everyone has a super day. joe

Thumping Good Thursday ya'll Sore throat and earache decided they missed me and flew home again last night Been up for a bit and moving slowly. Doggies are fed and kitchen is not cleaned I have to do some mad scientist stuff, and then, if the boys go to mom's, I'm going back to bed. If she is still too "sick" then I'll have to stay up till hubby gets home. First, though, I have to order some Gluten Free stuff so it will be here before daughter arrives.

Sorry you're not feeling well, L4L. Hope it gets better soon. Hi, everyone. Looks like I missed my morning whoosh. I was running late, so I didn't have time to post. I'm still waiting for news as to whether or not I'm supposed to do yet another reset tonight. I'm really hoping not, as it wouldn't start until midnight, and then I'd have to be up for work at 6 the next morning. Might as well not go to sleep at all after that. If I need to do that reset at all, I'm hoping it at least happens on Friday. For now, I'm going to game for awhile and then decide whether or not I want to take a nap just in case I get some bad news. Okay, off to see what else is happening. Hope everyone is having a great Thursday so far.

Doc, so glad you are feeling well enough to play. Boys have gone back to mom's, so it's time for me to lie down. TCM is playing old Perry Mason Movies... all new to me. So fun!
