Enter into the hidden world of time-travel, global catastrophe and personal triumph of the award-winning adventure on PC and Mac
Check out the game here. Check out the Interview with the developer Here. Read previous news here. Zurich (Switzerland), 26 March 2015: Swiss independent game developer IF Games today announce Perils of Man, the award-winning adventure game series co-created by ex-LucasArts' designer Bill Tiller, for Windows PC and Mac. The desktop versions are set for release via Steam on 28th April, 2015, and will entail the complete time-traveling adventure spanning 7 chapters.
Initially a sponsored project, setting the grounds for a remarkable high-quality production, Perils of Man found its way back to its indie creators who are now working with Dutch game developer Vertigo Games (Adam's Venture, World of Diving, Skyworld) to expand the enthralling universe of time traveling protagonist Ana beyond the iOS platform for a wider audience to enjoy on PC and Mac.
"After tremendous feedback from players and press in 2014 and by popular request, we decided to develop a desktop version of Perils of Man. With the help of our friends at Vertigo Games, who completed the critical last phase of development, we are now in the position to launch the PC and Mac versions as well as the full iOS version. We are grateful for the support and understanding that our community has shown us these past months." said Mike Huber of IF Games. The Steam release will entail the complete Perils of Man series, spanning 7 chapters of haunting adventure on PC and Mac with support for Steam Cloud and built-in Steam Achievements, for $9,99 / €9,99 / £9,99.
Co-created by celebrated game designers ex-LucasArts' Bill Tiller and 1954: Alcratraz’ Gene Mocsy, Perils of Man reboots the beloved classic adventure genre with a refreshing blend of 3rd/1st person gameplay, striking 3D animations, challenging puzzles and a captivating story that catapults players into a hidden world of time-travel, global catastrophe and personal triumph.
The desktop versions of Perils of Man are currently in development by Vertigo Games and are set for release via Steam on April 28th, 2015.
About Perils of Man
When sixteen year-old Ana Eberling receives an unexpected gift from her missing father, she is catapulted into an enthralling mystery that will take her on a journey through time. Ana is amazed to learn that her ancestors were inventors of an incredible technology that gave them the power to eliminate uncertainty. Ana needs to know why her family has fiercely kept this potential boon to humanity hidden from the public for generations, and if the answer to that question has something to do with her missing father. Ultimately, Ana must decide if a perfectly predictable world is a curse on humanity, or a triumph for mankind.
Perils of Man reboots the classic graphic adventure game with a combination of 3rd & 1st person gameplay, striking 3D animations, challenging puzzles, and a captivating story that will leave you pondering its profound implications. • Timewalk Through the Past: A key element of gameplay is a mysterious chronicle of history’s disasters and catastrophes. Unlocking its secrets will let players “timewalk” to real- world events from the gilded age of scientific invention. • Alter Destiny By Preventing Disaster: Command the fates of thousands by mastering a hidden technology that gives the player the ability to foresee risk. Experience a special gameplay mechanic that reveals a hidden matrix of cause and effect. • A Century-Old Mystery Solved: Discover a dark history of secrets, controversy, rivalry, and tragedy behind a façade of ingenious scientific invention and celebrated family fortune. Solve clever classical and inventory-based puzzles set up (but by whom?) either to keep someone out, or something in. • 24 Spectacular Environments: Each episode gives the player 2-3 hours of haunting adventure set in a unique and evocative graphic style all on your iPad. Explore the past and solve your way to the future in a game that will have you wondering if being the master of your fate is everything it’s cracked up to be. Happy Gaming! Ana

Thanks, Ana. I would prefer GOG, but I'll take the Steam version, if that's all that's available. I've been hoping for a PC version to come out so I could play this game, as it looks really intriguing. So does this mean that all of the episodes will be released at once for the PC version? Or are they still going to be coming out over time?

Considering the low cost, two episodes seem more in line. I got a lot more than 2-3 hours out of the first one also.

Sounds great. The way I play (taking time to look at everything/interact with everyone), I'm probably looking at about that length also. Thanks, Ana.
