Another mixture of new/recycled disemvowellings… Remove one vowel from the first answer to give the second. Do not rearrange any of the remaining letters. Eg. Organ/male deer (heart/hart). -1. Dark-haired person / main force -2. Dance / part of tool that fixes to the handle -3. Putting in place / undercover operation -4. Means of transport / duty -5. Dominant / measure of speed -6. Pathway / water-surrounded land -7. Bonnet / container -8. Weird / lake -9. Wild animal / imperfection -10. Large heavy knife / crash
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

1. Brunet/brunt (I was not previously aware of the masculine form of brunette)
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Great answers, all of them! Me neither Lex, but I guess it makes sense given blonde/blond...

Nice finish, everyone! Great answer, michele - I actually had "dingo / ding" but yours is well worthy of a cigar. Mrs Worrier and I have a friend who keeps maras. Trouble is they tend to escape and finish up in the nearby village, where the local inhabitants now refer to them as "Were-rabbits" (à la Wallace and Gromit)!
