Is the Carol Reed Adventure Game Series not the King (or Queen if you will) of Adventure Games?
Question/Discussion Is there any other Adventure Game Series or Original Character that has even come close to eleven games? Is there any other Adventure Game Series or Original Character come close to surviving eleven consecutive years and still going strong? Is there any other Adventure Game Original Character that has solved as many crimes and beloved as Carol Reed? Is there any other Adventure Game Series that has players anxiously awaiting the next game knowing that they don't have to wait many years for another game? Is there any other Adventure Game Series where the creator is so accessible and respected in our gaming community? Is there any other Adventure Game Maker, Indie or Commercial that has lasted 11 years without losing interest or moving on?
Do you have any other "Is there any other" questions you would add to this list?

Your points are well taken, and they are all part and parcel of why I love the Carol Reed games. This is also why, for many of the same reasons, I have my 32 Nancy Drew games lined up on my shelves, right next to my Carol Reed games. I am a bit worried, though, that the Nancy Drew series is at a crossroads and that the games, at least as we have come to know them, may not be around indefinitely - I hope I am wrong. Here's hoping that we will have many more Carol Reed games.

Is there any other Adventure Game Series that has a reference of GameBoomers hidden in most if not all of the games? (Including my own name hidden in one ) Ana

Mikael of course already knows what I'm about to say, since he's helping me with my own game, Carol Reed style. But I really want to say that he alone is the reason that I after many years have found something meaningful to focus on. Perhaps meaningful sounds a bit weird, but to me it really is. I enjoy all parts of the process of making my game although I'm terrified everybody will hate it, haha. I found his games, and then I found him. He is very helpful and I will now be so bold as to call him a dear friend. I also want to add that I felt a great honour in being asked to do a voice in the new game Shades of Black. I was nervous but it was a lot of fun. And I also got to beta-test the game. I'm very proud of these things, and I feel great being able to talk about it on a forum that will not tease me or something worse. It might sound strange that this stuff can mean som much to a person, but it actually can, and I'm very grateful and proud.

GreyFuss, now you're almost moving me to tears, and I mean that literally. I really don’t know what to say, but here we go anyway:
The adventure gaming community is made up of the nicest and most supportive people you can imagine.
When I first started making games I wasn’t out to make money or being successful in any way. Quite the contrary, actually. I remember feeling slightly guilty after having sold the first games, saying to my wife “Maybe they think they’re buying a REAL game?”
Without thinking so much about it then, I believe that the real reason that I started making games was that I wanted them to somehow reflect the spirit of the community that shared my love for the games that had been such a great part of my life for the last 25 years.
Whether my games are good or bad is one thing. But comments and emails that I’ve received over the years have convinced me that I actually have succeeded to express my love for the genre through my games. And that’s good enough for me.
So, THANK YOU! Mikael, Your games are the only ones that I anticipate each year. Love them all and hope there are many more....
