Yep, totally agree. It's taken 40 levels, but I've finally got the hang of how to work with him. Part of it is definitely related to armor maintenance. Adaptive armor is definitely the way to go so you can upgrade the enhancements, mods and so on every few levels especially when you reach the 30's. I could really notice the difference.

Click to reveal..
I'm leveling him up to 45 by going through the Belsavis quest arc before facing Darth Thanaton.
Right now I'm at level 43+, but playing with armor from the high 30's, which is definitely challenging in these quests. I still haven't gotten into crafting so need to rely on purchased upgrades. There's a 4 level gap in availability for the higher quality armor enhancements at the commendation merchants (above premium) and I don't want to settle for level 41 now that I'm so close to 45.

Also figured out it's best to send a tank companion in first, use my ranged powers to knock down the highest level opponent and then jump in with melee/force combos. I'm finding Ashara a much better battle companion than Khem, now that I've got her armored up, in that regard. Plus Khem is just so darn big, he gets in the way all the time when I'm trying to stealth or when battle takes more concentration.

They (Assassins) really do play like a D&D multi-classed character such as a Spell Sword. Those have always been more difficult than pure class characters like straight-up Juggs and Sorcerers.

@Trail_Mystic

You should consider getting Treek, if you don't already have her. She's a formidable healer and tank. smile

Well, that was a significantly more difficult fight than the Sith Warrior conflict. shocked

Click to reveal..
Darth Thanaton is one tough old Sith! lol

Took me 4 times before I finally brought that boss down and only after upgrading all of Ashara's gear (she still died every time about half way through the fight) plus a few pieces on my character I originally thought were sufficient. Also purchasing a high-level crafted Endurance/Defense stim off the Galactic Trade Market was a big help.

I dug the speeches that Khem Val gives when introducing you to your followers, really makes you feel like a Dark Lord evil

Well, apparently today is the last day for the Ilum/Gree Dailies and Quest PVP runs.

I was able to run both area PVP's and almost all the Dailies early this morning before the updates started. The only Daily I didn't attempt was the Heroic area since I was on my own and I think it was rated at 60 while my Tank was still at 57 at that time. I did end up chewing through about 10 Specialist Health packs and two Specialist Fortitude stims on the other quests though.

Ended up helping a group take down the waves of Battle Observer and Ancient Driods around one of the big Pylons right by the Gree ship just for fun, it was a heck of a battle even with 4 of us plus companions, but got some really good loot out of it.

The only part of the PVP I couldn't complete on my own was the final bonus of taking down the Ancient War Droid. That thing has over 500K health! I held my own for quite sometime, but just wasn't taking enough damage fast enough. Once my saber shield wore off, my health started dropping at a rate that was equivalent to the droid, except it still had 300K left to my 30K. Not much I could do except battle it out until the inevitable end. If it's still available late this evening I might try the run again, but with one of those huge Endurance/Defense stims I bought off the Galactic Market for the other boss battle.

The run seemed to be worth it, all the gear I picked up was substantially higher in stats than what I currently have, with the exception of Shielding and Defense. Also picked up some really unusual enhancements and mods as loot drops. Credits were moderately good, but I think I'm just spoiled by the late class runs having such big payoffs. I may try running my Assassin through the gauntlet later today as long as I don't get trashed by too many 'Pubs I should make it through.

I thought the lead in to the Dailies and PVP Quest was funny. It was basically built up like a UFO report. I kept thinking, "A UFO sighting, on Star Wars, really?" LOL lol

It does have some pretty cool foes. I wish I would have done more of the dailies and PVP's sooner though. If you achieved a high enough status I think you are able to board the Gree ship and that thing looked pretty cool. Apparently, it's a re-occurring feature that's been running since 2013 according to the Developer's blog I found - I'm sure Guybrush or Misslilo can verify. I hope so because I'd really like to run through all the available quests.

Yes - The Gree event and the Bounty Contract Week and the Raghoul event is recurring.
Not often, but you'll get to do it again. smile

Just wait until you get the Shadow of Revan SoR - Rishi is a wonderful place.
This is the Xpack, that lets you run Flashpoints solo with a "helper" for the Class Story. razz

They sure are pushing this expansion, my expectations for KoFE are getting rather high. It sounds like they are developing an entirely new group of story/quest arcs associated with, but independent of SWTOR. Maybe a new future arm of the Franchise?

People asked for more story - BW listened.
BUT they took the opportunity to also streamline the tech behind, so updates etc. will be easier implemented.
I'm really looking forward to this one. smile

Hey folks,

As I mentioned in my previous post, the plan for getting Nico in Fallen Empire was that you would recruit him into your Alliance as you were playing through the storyline. However, knowing the concerns about how you access Nico, we are also going to send you a token in the mail which will allow you to have Nico right away. If you want to get Nico as a part of playing through Fallen Empire, you can still do that. Just delete the token from your mail and you will get him naturally. On the flip side, if you claim the token we will still let you do his recruitment mission later on, you will just already have him.

This way the decision is in your hands on whether you want to get him as a part of the recruitment, or if you just want him right away. And it is worth repeating, that Nico is only accessible to those subscribers who qualified for him.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion (which I created ).

-eric

Just started a Republic Trooper, kind of fun so far, lots of blowin' stuff up lol It's interesting how they paint the Republic as being nearly as corrupt as the Empire, but less overt about it.

I disagree, the Republic is entirely corrupt. While the empire isn't. The capital city of the Republic except for the Senate Tower which is under guard, is a giant slum. Most of the Republic's capital is run by gangs. On the other hand the Empire's capital has no criminal element On the Republic captail planet you fight republic criminals, inside the city. On the Empire's home world the foes are ouside the ctiy in the wastelands or in the haunted sith temple, not in the city.
