War and Peace Adapted from Tolstoy’s novel and appears, from the trailer below, to be what we call ‘A bodice ripper’ sorry, not to my taste, but that’s just me, though it was filmed in Russia which must be a plus.

To Sir with Love. A remake of the old movie. Looking forward to this one.

Set in London’s East End in the aftermath of WW2, the story centers on Guyanese engineer Ricky Braithwaite who returns from the RAF to find a cold welcome in a Britain which has turned its’ back on the black men and women who had fought alongside them in the war. He takes a job as a teacher, finding a class of unruly white working-class kids who test him to his limits; but whose lives are transformed under his guidance.


Lastly,
A number of detective dramas including from H.K.Rowling and the seconed Endeavour series.

Cari. This sounds good to me.

I don't go for remakes. No one is going to be as good as Sidney Poitier or sing the theme (To Sir With Love) like Lulu.

I just did some checking, apparently The Fall 3 and Happy Valley 2 still haven't aired in the UK yet, so be won't showing up on Netflix any time soon. According to IMdb Luther 4 is coming up in UK Dec 17 and 22. Don't know when it will show up on Netflix. No dates listed for the others.

I' m looking forward to The Expanse, a TV series adapted from a series of very good SF novels, as well as Childhood's End. Both of these start this week.

I love the Endeavour series and look forward to another! Thanks Cari. Colpet I have both The Expanse and Childhood's End starting on the Sci-Fi channel on Dec 14th. Previews look really good!

I read Childhoods End by Arthur C. Clarke some years ago, it’s not your usual sify fare if I remember correctly, more in keeping with his other book 2001 a space odyssey but very good nonetheless.

I hated Childhood's End (the book). And The Expanse seems to be based on book series which is still being written.

I've only seen the first series/season of Endeavour, all Netflix has. I would like to see more.

Childhoods End, as I previously said, is not your usually scientific fantasy i.e. aliens invading earth, Star Trek battles etc. It’s based on an idea; a premise, that we humans are only on the first rung of evolution which is now in the process of coming to an end.

I don’t think I would ever say I hate a book. I would probably thumb through a few pages and say ‘No, not for me’ and put it back on the shelf. After all, it’s just a matter of preferences and we all have different likes and dislikes.

Hope Endeavor Season 3 comes to the USA next year Mad. If not my Library often gets British Mysteries on DVD for renting so I can get it that way too.
