Aptly named late arrivals at the annual ball. For example, a late arrival at the soft-fumishings ball might be Mr and Mrs Wall-Carpeting and their son Walter Wall-Carpeting... The dashes indicate the number of letters in the name and an asterisk indicates a hyphen in the answer. Please add any of your own for others to solve... Late Arrivals at the Fishmongers' Ball -1. Mr and Mrs Ibbott and their son --- -2. Mr and Mrs Ittudplace and their son P--- -3. From a region of Spain, Prince and Princess Shark and their father ------ ---- -4. Ian Chips and his dog S----- ... followed by Late Arrivals at the Musicians' Ball -5. Mr and Mrs Tree-Tousteppe and their daughter M----- -6. Mr and Mrs Lynn and their daughter ----- -7. Mrs and Mrs Trigattar and their son ---- -8. Mrs and Mrs Evening and their son and daughter --- --- ----- -9. Mr ands Mrs Lorgen and their son B----- -10. Mr and Mrs Ducters-Batten and their son C-- -11. From France, M and Mme Dance and their son -------*----- -12. Mrs and Mrs Low and their killjoy mother M---- D----

Yes, Cue! Close and clever, niteowl. It's a marine answer OK, supposedly more upmarket than mere fish... ... and over here, it's a not uncommon dog's name

Marine, but not a fish niteowl. Over 24 hrs, so a bijou hint - begins with "S"
