Pewter Games, Executive Producer Charles Cecil, and Curve Digital will Launch the Charming Tale on November 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with Free Digital Art BookCheck out the Launch video here. View the screens here. LONDON – October 28, 2016 – Developer Pewter Games, executive producer Charles Cecil and independent games publisher Curve Digital today announced that the enchanting, handcrafted point and click adventure The Little Acre will release on Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 22, 2016 for $12.99 / €12.99 / £9.99 with pre-order and launch day discounts. In addition to a bundle of fresh screenshots, a short new trailer released today exemplifies the game’s handcrafted style: https://youtu.be/5mMY51NhFZI The Little Acre is a heart-warming, story-led adventure inspired by the marvels of classic Don Bluth animation (All Dogs Go to Heaven) and the magical wonder of a Miyazaki world. The game is set in 1950s Ireland and follows the story of Aidan and his young daughter, Lily. Investigating the sudden disappearance of his father, Aidan finds himself transported to a strange new land populated by bizarre creatures. Things are made slightly more difficult when young Lily decides that she is going to “help” and encounters her own perils along the way. The Little Acre is available to pre-order starting today across various digital stores on Windows PC and from next week onward for Xbox One (worldwide) and PlayStation 4 (Europe) – with every player receiving a fantastic free digital art book on release, chronicling the conception and creation of this soon-to-be classic adventure. Please see official Curve Digital social media channels (@CurveDigital) for specific pre-order links. Please note: the digital art book will be available at launch as part of the Steam bundle. Console players will access the art book via alternate download, the details of which will be provided in the near future. “The game has been a real labor of love for us here,” said Chris Conlan, Co-Founder of Pewter Games. “The original vision was to create something which felt classic yet modern – something I think we’ve achieved.” “There’s a whole generation of gamers out there who won’t have played a point and click adventure before,” adds Ben Clavin, Co-Founder of Pewter Games. “Of course, those well versed in adventures will feel at home with The Little Acre, but we’re equally excited to introduce the genre to a brand new audience.” “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Pewter Games team,” says Charles Cecil, creator of the acclaimed Broken Sword series of games. “They are full of passion and creativity, and watching that translate into a game they can be very proud of has been a real joy. I’m enormously excited to see how modern players respond to the point and click genre – if it goes well, I can see a real resurgence. I’d certainly be interested in revisiting some of our titles, too.” For a brief synopsis and overview of The Little Acre, a debut trailer released in August can be found at: https://youtu.be/SVjO5EuPLG0 Happy Gaming! This looks promising. After my great disappointment of discovering that Kings Quest was more QTE than adventure, I hope this one will stick to the original type of 3pp P&C that I love. BTW why is everyone so anti Steam?

I like Steam too lynthorpe! Here is a little statistic: How many steam accounts are there 2016? Steam has over 125 million active users, 8.9M concurrent peak. The number of active users on Steam has reached a new record of 125 million. Valve announced today that are over 125 active Steam users worldwide. The Steam client now has 4500 games and 400 million pieces of user-generated content.
