Nice tries ladies, but I'm afraid it's think again time think

Gail - yes, that sax is very like "Diana", but this is a one-hit wonder of the following year
michele - again, very similar but not quite the same rhythm. This was #1 in the US and Oz, and #3 in the UK in '62...

3. Pick up the pieces - Average White Band santadance

I had the tune going round in my head for 24 hours before drilling down to the band and title; definitely losing my edge!

I can also hear the tune to 2 but not the words..makes me think of the Sweet or one of the Kssenetz-Katz bands, but not any of those....

Prime Havana cigars for Koala and CCb, old stogies for everyone else, I'm afraid smile12

#2 is from 1962, and #3 was a film theme and hit on the country charts. Longer clips this afternoon UK time

3 also sounds like England Dan and John Ford Coley on Showboat Gambler per Mrs Lex, but I am not sure that was ever used as film music. smile12

2 sounds very like Peggy Sue by Buddy Holly, but a tad too long before the opening chord, and 5 years later... smile12
