YES!!! I am bumbling around-as usual-but in awe. Fun to have to revive my D'ni numbers notes!
Quick question (which the game will probably answer for me at some point): Is it necessary for me to deciper the door symbols ? I am just beginning here...have power and now watching numbers on what seems to be a version of an hour glass...playing with the machines...

LOL! Yes, Todelmer. There are three symbols over the door to the "Red Room". I wondered if that was a clue I should have been able to decipher, but couldn't get a good view. Guess I won't worry about it now!

Arghhh I cant find those Symbols and I need em They are used for one of the Telescopes controls Look at the first symbol to get an idea.. But before you move anything do look everywhere first as you will see if you jump ahead it will get annoying EDIT: Found them shame I cant zoom in on them, kinda made it out.. For clarification -- Can someone tell me if symbol 2 is a Cross shape and symbol 3 is a vertical |? Shame they had to do this a new way instead of the old fashioned Myst Style video

ergh...If I could see what the first one was I would, Dab! It looks like it could be one of the shapes..but impossible to tell which one.
As for the numbers...Will go back and check again...but if Dadguy didnt use them...

The first shape will be a circle with a quarter missing.. This game you need a graphic card which can use AntiAliasing so it sharpens the lines.. EDIT: For KateVa SPOILER**** Dont look at this if you want to find it yourself... If you have trouble in the game to see it clearly then look at the link below http://www.vwaskar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fun/hint1.jpg (115KB)

WEll, I should have just waited here! I took a bunch of screen shots, then played with them in Paint Shop Pro...so, I agree it is a six and a one.
At least I have progressed to the top of the stairs and seen another one! TY both!

I am stuck on the Bridge of Sighs...that is, the metal balcony with the levers at the bottom of the stairs. I can't see that anything is happening when I pull the switch down, although I get a lot of noise. I have looked thru the telescope on the roof a gazillion times...
What am I missing? Would love a nudge here! (Who needs a Prima Guide when you have Boomers??)

er...have pulled it a lot. Should I keep focusing on the same pillar I found the symbols? I see what looks like a door behind some kind of tram thingee...and I can see a pedestal on one side of that pillar. Keep pulling the lever and the switch, huh? Sigh...

How do I open the 2nd locked gate to get on Direbo to get to Todelmer Island? I can get the first one open but there is no way I can see to open the second one.

Do Bahro sleep after a hard first age? I cannot get a Bahro to pick up the slate with the upside down birthday decoration. I'll admit to being the world's worst artist, but this is getting frustrating. What am I missing...there's three of them, right? one long, two short?

Actually, you need only pull it once when the top switch is in the right position. The goal is to get the cable wheel up top to rotate to allow you a view of a second remote pillar from the telescope (the second pillar is to the left of the one with the three symbols) that is blocked by the big wheel. It allows an important view of something. Dadguy-I qualify for the Dumb Blonde Award on this one. I see a pillar with a pedestal (three rings attached to a fourth) and a telescope...but I don't seem to see much of anything change from my rooftop scope after I pull the lever across the "bridge" and pull down the handle. The top lever has only two positions...far right and far left. Is that correct??? Wheels within wheels...Kate

Guess I got better with my scopes, since I found the third pedestal without too much trouble. Now, am trying to figure out how to get into that cable car thing. Door on third pedestal locked..and can't jump down to platform. I had hoped the lever on the first platform would help but no go. Is the map on the wall supposed to be an aid for this? Other than showing a green line... Kate

I got that symbol, and I moved the cable car, but I cant get power to that area. Ive set the levers right im sure, but no power You have to set the lever on the tram controls, the upper to the left and keep pulling down till it wont go anymore, and then goto the 3rd pillar and you should be able to get inside. But meh, still cant get the power going :\ EDIT: Hurrah got power going, was very very pernickerty lol

Waaah!!! What did you do to finish it? I have three settings for the scope machines...and no clue what to do next. I assumed that the numbers for the third scope would bring something new..but I have failed to find it. Should I be at that scope looking for a final set of numbers for the broken scope?
(And TY guys for getting me on the cable car!)

Did you not notice a new symbol for our magical buddies? Ok what to do is this. Set the Telescopes. Then use the tablet with the new symbol you found (in the area you climbed onto the cable car). This shifts the planets around. Keep watching on the telescope screen that has the planet on it, and use full magnification, after if nothing is shown, use the tablet again. Keep going till something happens

WHERE the heck is the 3rd Pillar anyway. I just found out I have been looking at the 1st Pillar. I don't see a 3rd one anywhere from the plateau of the 2nd pillar. I only see the 1st one. I looked through the brackets of the big telescope and see the 3 symbols for the 1st pillar. The big telescope has been moved to the right coordiniates according to the picture in the book.

WHAT am I doing wrong. I set the coordinates for the left rear control panel with the symbols that were on the tram midway post. I have pushed the flashing green light and not pushed it. The same thing happens every time. I put the Advanced Time symbol on the slate drop it and the Bahro picks it up. He does not raise his hands to cause a blinding light. It worked a couple of times and now it wont work at all. It should because I go back to a previous save before.

I was putting the slate down in the wrong place. Now I am in the red control room. I zoomed in on the 4th icon circles within circles backed away from the control panel drew the circles on the slate dropped it. Bahro picked it up I went to the 1st pedestal and nothing happens. I hear a roar but no icon appears.I have waited for as much as 2 minutes without results. Is the first pedestal at the control room pillar am I in the wrong place?

Just an aside here...the rings never moved on the planet until I went back to the third pedestal once. I used the "memorized" symbol on the slate every time, so it wasn't a question of poor slate drawing. After that they moved wherever I placed the slate until they matched the hint. Very strange, but sure made finishing the age easier once they moved!!!
Just in case someone else has this problem, I suggest moving on to another age then returning later.

Todelmer is just visually stunning isn't it? Where is everyone's favorite place to stand and watch the time advance symbol operate? I've tried a few locations.. one good one is near the first pedestal, on top of the first set of stairs. Next I'm going to try running back right up to the top of that first pillar and watch it from that vantage point! I love watching that huge blue moon/satellite with the rings heel slowly over!

Yo boomers - I have done everything I can in Todelmer, but I now have a problem I cant Leave. I did everything to the end, got my slate, dropped it, Bahro picked it up and its on the first pedestal, but, I CANT GET THE TRAM TO WORK. I have moved levers, been and done everything I can think but I cant get the tram powered up to move, How do I repower and move the tram so I can see the symbols halfway between the lst and third pillar. I know the ending, but I would like to go by the book.

You ask how to 'repower' it..that suggests you used it once and can't get it to go anywhere now. If you've never used the tram as yet, you need to turn on the power at the third pillar.. at the third pillar, starting from the tram, go into the building and start up the stairs.. you'll see a second round greenish window with two levers that have to be adjusted.. did you already turn that on so that there is power to the third pillar? It works the same way the one in the Red Room on Pillar #1 works. Once the power comes on (and it's quite unmistakable when it does), get in the tram then turn so you are facing the control lever, pull it toward you.. tram'll start moving and then will stop half way between first and third pillars.. turn and look to your right... that's where the last set of co-ordinates are.

It's pretty unmistakable when the power comes on... the lights in the room come up and there is a sort of dial around the big greenish window that starts to spin around. The telescope controls will not work until you do this. gone back out climbed stairs to blocked path, gone back down to control room, gone up red lit stairs, moved left slider up & middle slider to R, but don't see a green button to push. So, up the stairs there are four telescope controls.. make sure you are at the one on the RIGHT at the BACK.. if you've successfully turned the power on.. move the telescope up-and-down slider all the way to the top.. you should see a green button begin to glow when you move that slider.. push the glowing button .. it controls the cables to that telescope, and will lift the cables and debris up out of the way

He left me there & now I don't know where I am or how to et out or where I am supposed to go. the WT didn't tell me anything about this!!!
Mome This sounds rather suspiciously like the Bahro has misinterpreted your drawing of the third pedestal symbol, as the Keep pedestal.. the place you are describing and Esher's speech in the red carpeted room is definitely the Todelmer Keep. I'd suggest, if you want to play through the regular way, to go back to a savepoint earlier.. because if you are at the Keep, then your slate is now mounted on the Keep pedestal and there is no way to get it off.. as soon as you touch the thing it will move down and unlock it's arm from the tablet, and then you are essentially done with Todelmer. PS. there is a particular bug in the Todelmer world btw, and is well documented over at the Myst forums.. apparently some people were even drawing a pacman symbol on their slates.. and being catapaulted to the finish of Todelmer because the Bahro interpreted it as the Keep symbol.
