If you are looking for a great point and click ghost story for Halloween, I really enjoyed Goetia. You can play a one hour demo here. I believe it is only available at STEAM. http://playgoetia.com/I wondered what the word Goetia meant... from Wikipedia: "Goetia is a practice that includes the invocation of angels or of demons, and use of the term in English largely derives from the 17th-century grimoire The Lesser Key of Solomon, which features an Ars Goetia as its first section. It contains descriptions of the evocation of seventy-two demons, famously edited by Aleister Crowley in 1904 as The Book of the Goetia of Solomon the King."

Hi, those of you who have played Goetia, I would like to hear a little bit more detailed desription what kind of game it is, what the gameplay includes, how long it is etc. There's currently Square Enix Publisher Weekend on Steam and Goetia is included with 75% discount. There's also Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration Edition available with 60% discount for those of you who also enjoy action adventures. Timo

There is an hour demo linked in Drac's post, TJL. THat may help you decide better than other opinions. The 3.74 pricetag is a good deal!

Thanks Iurii and BrownEyedTigre! I finally decided to buy it 'blind'. I do believe it will definitely be worth for the nominal price 3.74 €. Others interested, do hurry, there's less than 5 hours left with such price. Timo

Hi, played it and enjoyed it with some reservations. My goal was to manage without use of walkthrough and that went well up to progress level 75%. Then a total dead end for 4 days. Then I had to give up and take a peek. First problem. The examples of sigils in game gave misleading hint. Despite of mentioning three decans, in the light of examples placing the zodiac seemed to determined by sex. I can not remember any additional information given concerning decans. I knew the solution at first place but misplaced the zodiac due to wrong mentioned assumption I made . Second problem. The barrel organ punch cards! I used hours listening the melody to repeat and could isolate six possible punch cards to construct it but the right order was simply guessing at best. And then I also missed the fact that those cards alone weren't enough to play the melody. But the game gave no hint for that. That was very confusing compared to other puzzle mechanics. Third problem. Deciphering the note. I can't remember any hint for that cipher system. Even the walkthroughs only say how to do it but do not mention where that information is from. Alternative solutions to progress also left some items with no use but you couldn't know that. Plus there were several hot spots with no use at all. My opinion is that this game suits best for persons with lots of patience, who like using paper and pen for support and are ready to study the subjects from external sources too. I raise my hat for someone who is capable for playing this game through without any use of walkthrough, I sure wasn't. It somehow reminded me of Ether One, being there alone and collecting pieces of information to build up the whole story. If you liked it Goetia may be something worth to try. Timo

Thanks for adding those spoiler tags, BrownEyedTigre! I tried to set my words in a way not revealing any actual solution but you are probably right that reading even those should be a conscious decision. It was a disappointment I couldn't get through Goetia without taking a couple of peeks into the walkthrough but I flushed it down by playing The Walking Dead: Michonne in three sessions on Friday and Saturday. And today I'm about to start Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter! Timo

No problem Timo. Glad you found a game you enjoyed better! Good luck with Sherlock! I can never get through them without a peek of MaG's WT. Ana
