Thanks, Donald. While I believe all drugs are to be taken extremely sparingly, making it a prescription only serves to take away from those who can't afford to run to the doctor every time they have a headache. Lining the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies and medical centers.

The article did reference that this is mostly applicable to people with pre-existing heart issues. My husband has used prescription strength ibuprofin for at least 15 years on a daily basis for his back. I also use it often for my back when I am going to be on my feet a lot.

I'm not allowed to use it - or anything else that contains an anti-inflammatory

I take both Ibuprofen and Tylenol under doctor's supervision. Low doses of the Tylenol and higher sometimes on the Ibuprofen to help with my spine problems and Osteoarthritis. He monitors my blood levels on Kidney and Liver at least every 6 months. He also runs every test in the book for other problems (electrolytes, sodium, Vitamin D, etc.). The Vampires leave me drained. So far no problems and it's been since 2007. So far he's not seeing any conditions to worry about. If not for Ibuprofen I'd probably be sitting a lot and not doing anything physical.
I'm guessing it's each individuals 'history' and careful monitoring by the doctor that determines if, or how much, of anything to take for pain. So far so good for me.
WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
