I tried to add this comment to the 2016 discussion, but it wouldn't load. So here goes.
I just found and played the CE version of this game and it was terrific. It is the usual good guys against a criminal conspiracy, this time in Sherlock Holmes' London (although he is only referred to and is not a part of the game). But it doesn't feel the need to drag in demons or magic or any other puffery to make the story interesting and fun to work out.
It has some nice camera work, good textural variety of the various scenes, and some original ways of interacting with inventory and hot spots that at first make you laugh at their "McGuiver-ness" and then make you appreciate the quirky mind behind them. The game is long, and took several days of coming back to it to finish. The bonus game is shorter and really feels like part of the original story rather than a separate one, but that is no quibble, just a recognition.
Your character doesn't do stupid or careless things just to create a problem to solve. I loved that respect for the character. He gets into plenty of tough spots, too! There are one or two small mini games involving "arcade" action scenes, but nothing egregious. I don't like action at all, but these were OK.
I mainly loved the mini-games in this game. There were the usual types that we always see, but some new ones that had me grinning. A couple were really tough, and I had to get out paper and colored pencils to work out a solution. So those were my favorites. I was challenged in a way that made me glad I bought the game. Of course, you can SKIP any mini-game or puzzle if you want, after a timer of a minute or so runs down.
The HOG scenes weren't in your face too much, and even they took creativity to new areas. I don't think there were any that were simply Find the Tennis Racket. Ugh.
In short, Two Thumbs Up. I am now going to look into the other games in this series.
_____________ P.S. I did try out the other game in this series and was very disappointed. I don't think I even finished the Trial Game. Didn't buy it.

I just finished this one and it was awesome. Creative puzzles and HO's and great storyline. Getting ready to start the 2nd one.
