We have a ridiculously cloudy day but I managed to catch some shots of the eclipse when it would peek through. I thought I'd share if you are interested. 89% eclipse in Chicago. Ana

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody Gibran

Nice job Ana We were too cloudy up here to see anything except for the darkening sky. *sigh* and I had all my best apocalypse jokes ready to go too.
I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

Beautiful pictures! We were right smack dab on the line of totality, so we really got to see something! Even when there was just a tiny sliver of the sun, it was just sort of dim. But during totality, it got very dark and you could see stars. For 360° around the horizon it looked like a sunset. Our roosters started crowing and the birds and insects got really quiet. It didn't seem to affect the dogs and cats at all.
Once again, weeds are my life!
