I played this one and truly enjoyed it, of the 8 games in the series so far, I would put this one as second best of the series, No 1 being Dead Reckoning 06 - Death Between the Lines CE or SE, in fact, I enjoyed most of them because of the Modern themes and clear background graphics. The only 2 games I did not enjoy as much are: 1) Dead Reckoning 04 - Broadbeach Cove, I found the background graphics too cartoony for some reason and 2) Dead Reckoning – 07 Sleight of Murder CE (I thought this one had too many HO screens, then again I might have been in bad mood when I played this one. Who knows, maybe down the road I will give it another go).

Yes I hear ya re: Objects in blue or other screens that can bother the eyes, I just finished playing "Mystery Tales - Dangerous Desires" which I found very enjoyable except when he or she reaches for an a "Ghost object" and the screen becomes somewhat foggy or Ghostly?, not too bad on the eyes but it still takes getting used to and not necessary, at least for me to enjoy the game.
PS: If you do buy the game, good luck and I hope you enjoy it.
