(I'm new to this forum, so apologies in advance to the mods if this thread is out of place. if that's the case, message me to let me know where it belongs and I'll delete/repost this as quickly as possible.)

Lately I've been getting back into playing adventures after a very long absence from the genre.

Any franchises or stand alones to recommend? I'm not looking for anything and everything, though I really can't think of any way to be more specific as to what I'm searching for in words (at least in any way that's remotely concise). Here's a list of some of the non kid oriented series/games that I recall having both played and enjoyed, which I hope paint a good picture for you all.

AGON
Broken Sword
Cameron Files
Dark Fall
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Last Express
Moment of Silence
Nancy Drew
Omega Stone
Paradise (and all other Benoit Sokal games, save for Syberia 3, which I have yet to try)
Sherlock Holmes (Frogwares)
Traitor's Gate
X Files (FMV)

There are a number of games you may be interested there, though they are mostly 3rd person games (unlike AGON, Dark Fall, Nancy Drew, or Omega Stone which are 1st person).

And if you liked the original Dark Fall 1 and 2, be sure to try out Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil.

The New Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil is outstanding!

Being as you have Dark Fall on your list, have you played The Lost Crown by the same developer? It is one of my favorite adventure games from the last 15 years.

Darkfall: Ghost Vigil is just outstanding for a recent game. For one a bit more in the past, The Book of Unwritten Tales is a great adventure. But the link posted above is a great resource.

@ Marian

Actually, Dark Fall really shouldn't have been on there. I was just trying to think of franchises/stand alones for each letter of the alphabet, and Dark Fall was the only one I could think of that started with d. However, thinking it over now, I probably should've edited it out of the posts final draft.

Its not that I think its a bad game, mind you, I just didn't particularly enjoy it. As for the Lost Crown, same deal. Seems like a great game, but just not my cup of tea.

Still, thanks for the recommendation!
