This is issue number 2 for the day. I want to be able to access all my documents on my Razer from my new laptop. but my home network is demanding credentials. I have gone into the advanced network options and turned off the password requirements, but the network is still demanding credentials. Not sure where to go after that. I mean, there ARE no credentials, since it's my network and I didn't set any up.

Any ideas?

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I think what is asking for is your network password. I believe to join a network for the first time, you will need to enter your network password which you use to access the internet. I "think."

Let me see if I can do that with my laptop and my desktop which are on the same network. I might be remembering wrong, but it seems that some permissions are required.

But I never set up a password for the network. I am showing as the admin, but there IS no password and it will not accept my internet password.

OK, maybe I'm misunderstanding. In order to connect to your network, a device must enter the password. My network gateway is my WiFi router which requires a password for any device to connect to it. Last weekend I set up a new router and had to change my whole network. A PAIN! So my new network is called something different and requires a different password. I thought I had all my devices connected, but then tried to print something. Oops! Forgot to set up the new password on the network.

Or am I missing something here?

OK. Heading over to the next town to take hubby for an eye injection. Will look at this again when I get home later this morning.

Yes, that's the password I used -- the one that links devices into our wifi. I suspect the issue is the administrator name. It has to be me, but I don't know if it's my email, or something else.

I just wanted to be able to access files this way. In the past I was able to share files with John's computer. Not sure what changed.

So, you know your password right? Do you remember if you changed your admin name? Usually the default name is admin

And maybe see if watching this points anything out you might have missed? Like maybe enabling Network Discovery and File Sharing?

Set up Home Network Share Files Windows 11

Yes, Winfrey. On her new Alienware laptop. I have it on a new laptop too. Guess I really need to bite the bullet and enable the TPM 2.0 on my motherboard and do my upgrade too. Dreading it.

I haven't had the energy to even look at this for the last week. Maybe this next weekend. It's not the end of the world, but it would be really handy.
